Since #unrealEngine has made the reckless decision to remove #blueprints from their game engine and openly embrace #AI ... I have stopped porting my add-on shader to their engine.

I updated my "coming soon" graphic to exclude unreal, and I'm moving on to porting my #blender add-on to only #UNITY and #GODOTengine

Ich hatte diese Woche das „Vergnügen“ mich mit diesem Teil der Automatisierung beschäftigen zu dürfen.

Und ich weiß auch schon, welche Automatisierungen ich auf Blueprints umstellen werden.

Für meine LED-Strips habe ich mir ein paar Effekte programmiert. Da diese unabhängig von der Instanz sind, macht es Sinn, diese als Vorlagen zu definieren.

I hate trying to learn things from videos.

Why can’t folk write comprehensive BOOKS about Unreal Engine 5.6?

Videos are either too slow and boring, or things suddenly appear on a blueprint or model and I’m wondering where the hell that came from. 😂

Yes, the video creators successfully achieve what they set out to do, but my brain cannot be taught that way. Autodidact. Give me a printed manual, turn me loose.

Иногда надо создать функцию, которая должна быть и доступна в blueprints, и адаптироваться под входные данные. Особенно это касается wildcard. Можно прибегнуть к ручной прописке рефлексии UFUNCTION. Однако, у этого есть свои ограничения. Для таких случаев в движке есть довольно старый класс – UK2Node .

В прошлом (уже) году я работал над интересным проектом в Unreal Engine с точки зрения реализации. Сделал почти весь проект в одиночку игру-симулятор и хотел бы поделиться как создавал главную механику игры. Я не программист, но опыт создания игр на Blueprints UE есть.

Итерация по UENUM в Unreal Engine

Понадобилось мне создать панель категорий размещаемых предметов в UI. В наследие мне достался уже готовый UENUM, который в будущем будет изменен. Естественно, очень не хотелось вручную перемещать и настраивать каждый отдельный виджет. Так еще и заниматься этим в будущем с изменениями категорий. Хотелось чего-то простого и универсального. Чтобы вот вызвал условный For Each Loop и сгенерировал все как надо, еще и не обязательно только для этого енама. Выход был найден! Если мы создаем UENUM, то unreal сам генерит всю нужную инфу и создает для нас UEnum класс, который является UObject. Нужно лишь правильно использовать эту информацию.
