The #blueAnon conspiracy theories about the 2024 election are a Republican op to sew the idea that US elections are fraudulent. Republicans plan to treat every election in which #Democrats win in the Nov 2026 as they treated Donald's loss in 2020, and as they're treating the California election now: falsely claim fraud, so they can override voters.
To that end, they're getting #Democrat, independent, and anti-MAGA former Republican voters to endorse the idea that US elections can readily be stolen, so Trumpist lies of election fraud will be easier to sell wherever the fascists lose.
The confirmation bias may be comforting in the short term, but don't fall for it, and don't tolerate anyone else falling for it. It only plays into how the fascists intend to steal the election: by lying that it was stolen in 2026, after months of getting you to believe the lie that it was stolen in 2024.
Angela is right. And it's about time we hear and heed such voices of reason on this issue.

This is why #TheVerge sucks now BTW. They’ve emphasized appeasing #BlueAnon and screwing over the people who made their videos and forgot that the whole point of why people liked them in the first place was that they were cool people with good insights in the tech and social media space.
But they drove away fantastic contributors like #backlon and #BeccaFarsace, who killed it at both journalism as well as review videos, and didn’t replace them with anyone with equivalent talent.
Now the #YouTube channel is pretty much just podcast clips, and the website (which, to be fair, hasn’t declined as poorly) feels less like a place for journalism and news than if you ran a competing site like #Engadget through the filter of #KaraSwisher’s glasses.

Over the course of the day I kept going back to a post I made on reddit to talk about claims of #election fraud in #Minnesota in 2024. It's been a very good reminder that #blueanon conspiracy theories abound and the right absolutely doesn't have a monopoly on grifters, liars, and weirdos.

@alerque @romin The people on the #Fediverse who in years past I would have voted for have become deeply partisan and polarizing over time, scooting from reasonable moderacy to either #BlueAnon #Liberalism, radical #Anarchy, #progressivism or far right #extremism. And the people who are left that I agree with on most things, I disagree with them enough that I wouldn’t trust them enough to vote for them.

Lmao, #BlueAnon has finally jumped the shark.
A good heuristic is that anybody who uses that term and actually thinks it means anything has completely stopped talking about QAnon in any other context than criticizing Democrats.
And lo and behold, if you check her Twitter feed, the last time she mentioned QAnon was to say Matt Yglesias was QAnon for saying TikTok is bad. Any other kind of mention has been entirely scrubbed from her account.
