i had an account. to spy on developments. i posted once every few months. mainly to criticize #bluesky. that it's run by #cryptobros, is not really decentralized (which is the same problem with #crypto: controlled by whales, imagine that), and therefore its fate is the same as #twitter
then in october last year i was met with a "confirm your birthdate" screen
i logged out and haven't been back since

#Bluesky 🦋 is down for many people today (https://status.bsky.app/). For a network that is #decentralized by design, that may sound surprising. But maybe it isn’t. In practice, almost every user is on bsky.social, and most clients rely on Bluesky-run backend services. If that backend has issues, large parts of the network are affected.
No shade, though. I like Bluesky and use it a lot. But days like this make me glad to also be here on #Mastodon 🐘✌️

Que se haya caído #Bluesky no deberia afectar a Eurosky... a menos que me esté perdiendo algo.

Well, this is interesting. I don’t use Bluesky but I do have an account and I left the notifications on so occasionally I have an alert. Suddenly, the app doesn’t open at all. Just a blue rectangle.
Sweet. One less thing. I really should just delete the app.

Looks like the "decentralized" network went down today. The main page loads but no posts or feeds load at all, and sometimes I just get a 503. Nice.

@[email protected] Wenn man bedenkt, dass das ganze ja dezentral sein soll, dürfte ein Ausfall bei #Bluesky die Server von #Eurosky eigentlich gar nicht beeinflussen außer, dass die Posts von Bluesky momentan nicht verfügbar sind.

@pasci_lei Irgendwas ist wohl bei #Bluesky kaputt. Bin mal auf die späteren Berichte zur Ursache gespannt.

How embarrassing for Bluesky and the AT protocol. It's not just Bluesky, mu.social is also down. I think this means it's an issue with the relay network — the one they said made the AT protocol resistant to failures as clients would simply switch to an alternative. Correct me if I'm wrong.
