My favorite #wildflower is #FirePink. It pops up disturbed areas, along woodland trails and after burns (thus its name) in deciduous forests. It is endangered in certain areas.

Its chief pollinator is the Ruby-Throated Hummingbird.

Can’t miss the bright red/crimson/scarlet color of the 5-point star flower. Saw this one on a recent trip to the "Blue Ridge" mountains, in #BlowingRockNC. It has been seen all the way up in Canada.
