This instance has quit working without a VРN on my end, starting yesterday. That's also when I tried to log in with a VРN at first, but the Captcha I got was malfunctioning.
Another instance I have to use a VРN for is blorbo.social, and I just wonder "what did the fandom people do to piss off Russia?"

Some other differences I've noticed between #aethy and #blorbosocial in the first 2 hours of comparing them :

• There is no markdown or html post option on Blorbo. Whereas on Aethy I can do silly stuff like bold and italics text, as well as make these ding dang bullet point lists I love so much. Plus easy linking!

• Blorbo has a 500 character limit. Aethy has a 10k character limit. As you can see, I love macroblogging and making the longest walls of texts blathering my adhd thoughts everywhere. So I like basically no character limits :)

• I think, very broadly and generally from a 2 hour look, there's more of a live-action fandom vibe with Blorbo. Much like how AO3's audience tends to be more into live action stuff. Whether that's danmei or superwholock or that pirate show. Aethy feels more cartoon oriented :blobcat3c:​ I like both!

These differences are very much probably cuz Blorbo runs on the default Mastodon software, while Aethy runs on a (Glitch? that's the name?) fork that the admin has fiddled with. So hooray for extra features that the reeeeenormies don't get :comfyhappy:​

Still, it's nice to figure out different instances and their individual user cultures! Not just software! But how people actually interact. That'll be my next thing that I'll pay attention to as I post about Willem Dafoe's huge pendulous ballsack on Blorbo...
