  1. RE: blorbo.social/@superluminous/1

    My current chief blorbo:

    Kim #Seungmin (member of #StrayKids)

Three things I like about him:
    - his beautiful, heartfelt singing
    - his gremlin puppy mischief
    - he's too beautiful to look at, ahhh my eyes

  2. Blorbo has quote boosts! 🥺🙏

To celebrate, quote this toot with your current blorbo(s)!

Name - where they're from (OCs welcome 💜) - three things you like about them.

  3. Today's #BlorboFromMyShows is Dr. M'benga from #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds

I didn't think I could accept any other doctors on the OG Enterprise besides Bones himself but Dr. M'benga is compelling enough to have captured my attention and my heart. He's a soldier, a doctor, and a father. All aspects which epitomize duty and sacrifice. A man who will always put other's needs above his own, even if he suffers for it, because he cares too much. I just love him.

  4. Today's #BlorboFromMyShows is Trafalgar D. Water Law from the #anime series #OnePiece

In a show full of my blorbos, Law stands out to me because he's not objectively a "good" guy. I mean, yes, as a pirate, he's inherently an enemy of the state, but I'm in awe of anyone who still sticks to a strong moral code despite circumstances. He cares deeply for his crew because he's lost everyone who's ever been close to him. In the words of the meme: he protec also he attac

  5. Today's #BlorboFromMyShows is Seven of Nine from the #StarTrek series #Picard

So I have a soft spot for Voyager, even if it isn't as well-loved as the other Star Treks. Seven of Nine was a highlight for me, and I've adored watching her develop from former Borg drone to the newest captain of the Enterprise. She faced a LOT of obstacles on the way, and those struggles were relatable for me.

She's a testament to the power of change, the power of controlling your own destiny.

  6. Today's #BlorboFromMyShows is Lois Lane from #MyAdventuresWithSuperman

I've always loved Lois Lane, honestly. Her determination and drive speaks to me on a personal level. I still want to be her when I grow up. All she wants is to get at the truth and to report on it.

I'm delighted that this iteration of Lois is Asian! And she has figured out Clark's secret right away! Although, I'm of the opinion that Lois always figures it out quickly. She just never tells Clark.

  7. Today's #BlorboFromMyShows is Tegan Jovanka from #DoctorWho

Tegan is my favorite classic Who companion. I loved how she called the Doctor out on his bullshit. Self-proclaimed "mouth on legs", because she spoke her mind, because she was opinionated. She was also the rare companion who walked away after she realized that life with the Doctor wasn't always fun. I admire that side of her. And I'm fascinated by the hidden side of her, the part of her still possessed by the Mara, by the dark.

  8. Today's #BlorboFromMyShows is Suika from the #anime series #DoctorStone

Lots of anime shows have adorable kids, so what makes Suika stand out? Her circumstances and her ingenuity. A girl with nearsightedness living in a pre-industrial world who somehow figured out that wearing a gourd on her head with holes cut out for her eyes helped her see better. Her insatiable curiosity often gets her in trouble, but she's an invaluable member of the Kingdom of Science.

  9. Today's #BlorboFromMyShows is Donna Noble from #DoctorWho

I really can't wait for her to return in the new season of the show, because I really didn't like the way the show handled her goodbye. She deserved so much better than getting her memories of her brave adventures taken from her. I loved that she kept the Doctor in check, reminding him of his duty to protect humanity, to protect all life really.

She's impulsive and rash and funny and loud and she was a delight as a companion.

  10. Today's #BlorboFromMyShows is Clark Kent from #MyAdventuresWithSuperman

Of course Superman has been a part of the cultural landscape forEVER but I especially love this particular version of the character. He reminds me of what I love about Clark. This cartoon leans heavily into how much of an awkward dork he is. He IS the Boy Scout! There's still a vulnerability to him, despite his super powers. He fears what he might become because he still doesn't know who he really is. It's a wonderful take!

  11. I'm skipping tonight's #BlorboFromMyShows to call attention to the great folks who brought us so many of our blorbos, the members of the Writers Guild of America. They're on strike to protect the viability of screenwriting as a career.

Their current contracts with the movie & TV studios haven't kept pace with emerging technologies like streaming services and AI-generated writing and they want to be fairly compensated for their work.

  12. Okay after a hiatus, I'm back to posting about blorbos :blobheart:

    Today's #BlorboFromMyShows is Raffi Musiker from #StarTrekPicard

As always, I'm very much enamored of female characters who don't fit the norms. Raffi is a mother (and grandmother!) who nevertheless kicks so much ass. She's skilled in so many things. Brilliant analyst, hacker, spy, and she can spar with Worf! She helped save the universe multiple times! She's Seven of Nine's Number One! I love her!

  13. Today's #BlorboFromMyShows is May from #AgentsofShield

Played to absolute perfection by Ming-Na Wen, May is one of my favorite badass female characters. She takes no shit from anyone, keeps her feelings in check because she's seen how vulnerable getting emotional makes her and she hates that.

But she still LOVES her tiny found family so fiercely. She mentors Skye and never gives up on Coulson. She'll do anything to protect them and I love her for that.

  14. Today's #BlorboFromMyShows couple are Young-woo and Jun-ho from #TheExtraordinaryAttorneyWoo

I don't watch a lot of K-dramas but this popped up on my Netflix recommendations. Took a chance and I'm so glad I did.

It's rare to see someone neurodivergent as a lead, much less the romantic lead in a K-drama. The story doesn't shy away from the struggles of loving someone with autism. But Jun-ho is still willing to do it because Young-woo is worth it. She's smart and cute and charming.

  15. Today's #BlorboFromMyShows is Keeley from #TedLasso

All too often, this sort of character is portrayed as vapid or just plain dumb, but I really appreciate that Keeley has so much more in her life than just being "the hot girlfriend". She's a business woman learning to ease out of her niche as famous model and finding out what else she could excel at.

She's also not jealous of other women's success, which is very refreshing. I'm tired of watching female characters at each other's throats.

  16. Today's #BlorboFromMyShows is Janet from #TheGoodPlace

The show reveled in subverting expectations on all fronts, and Janet is an especially fine example of this. She's not a robot and she's not a girl. She's kind of an AI if you squint, like if Siri had a body and a pleasing personality.

But I always thought she was adorable, and one of my favorite non-human characters.

  17. Today's #BlorboFromMyShows is Joel from #TheLastOfUs, specifically the one from the HBO adaptation of the original video game.

Pedro Pascal is the definitive DILF, at least for me. I could not believe our collective luck that he got cast as Joel. No one else could embody Joel so thoroughly, to imbue him with strength and resolve yet quiet vulnerability. A man who shut his heart when he lost one daughter, yet opens up to the possibility of another.

  18. Today's #BlorboFromMyShows is Balsa from the #anime #Moribito

I'm completely enamored with anime characters who don't fit the tropey norms. Balsa is a spear-bearer with a life debt. She seeks to save as many lives as it took to protect her when she was young. And yes, she's female, which makes her as a character very unusual in anime circles.

I'm in love with how pragmatic she is and yet she's capable of great love and loyalty to those she protects. An honorable warrior and bodyguard.
