"C2 scroll- scroll describing how to cast the second-level spell "Drain Curse," The effect is not described. If the spell is cursed, a plugged drain appears somewhere on the body of the caster. If the plug is ever pulled, they will lose 1 HP of blood every round until it is plugged again."

He points out the hook of arriving after running out of water in the desert is undermined by the module giving you unlimited water pretty quickly. However he admits he finds the "water provisioning aspect of D&D to be only somewhat engaging" and goes on to other matters.
A dungeon where water is more important than gold - at least for several days of adventuring - seems really fun to me.
