#Browser #Enshittification: no more #XSLT (= human-friendly #XML).
https://github.com/mozilla/standards-positions/issues/1287
#Google continues their strangling of the #open #web - most influential was maybe killing the #Blogosphere and giving rise to the #corporate #platform #web by sunsetting their #Reader. Now another #monopoly is used to get rid of human-friendly xml documents. A thing many of people involved in the decision likely can't imagine and many people familiar with the corporate platform web won't miss. They're fine with a browser that can render animated #advertising and are not interested in documents which their attention span doesn't allow to read them anyway.
Exceptionally sad, yet not surprising, is that Google is aided by #Mozilla and #Firefox in doing so.

Yesterday was the "Digital Independence Day", which I only learned of, today. Coincidentally yesterday I wrote my first blog post in years! I used to be on wordpress.com for nearly a decade, then moved my blogging to #g+ #facebook, #linkedin and co.
With the process of shutting down all my #ustech and #bigtech accounts, I felt the need of having a place to myself again, where I could share my thoughts. For now, I've decided to use #zola as a static site generator, which gets hosted to @Codeberg
Here's my successful "Hello, world!" that'll allow me to further my journey towards #digitalindependence as this static site will not only replace my old blogging software, but I plan to replace with it so much more! What a fitting coincidence, to have that post see the light of day on the Digital Independence Day :)

Namestorming by @benrobbins

A really simple and good way of getting things named in TTRPGs - especially, but not exclusively, the kind of collaborative story game Ben is known for. Speaking of which: Kingdom, Microscope and Follow are now available as POD from Lulu for this first(?) time! https://arsludi.lamemage.com/index.php/4978/overseas-print-on-demand/

RSS-Reader mal dringend ausmisten
Liefern KI-Agenten bald automatisch Informationen?
Please stay tuned.

Just finished @timbl 's great book #ThisIsForEveryone and the chapter on 'Design Issues' really stuck with me. The #web has always been a network full of creativity, enjoyment and collaboration (just think of the #blogosphere in the 2000s), and it's on us to keep this spirit alive. Now I am curious to read some of the more detailed considerations at https://www.w3.org/DesignIssues/

"The blogosphere
could be a modern realisation of Jürgen Habermas’s idea of “the public sphere” because it was open to all, everything was discussable and social rank didn’t determine who was allowed to speak. But..the speed and comprehensiveness that tech corporations such as Google and Facebook would enclose that public sphere with their own walled gardens in which “free speech” could be algorithmically curated while the speakers were intensively surveilled and their data mined for advertising purposes."

What is a blog?
What makes a website - blog?Is it writing new content in some (random) intervals on time with articles about (random) stuff and with dates? And with main page containing list of all blogposts with titles and dates?
Or sth else?
Because it looks like blog is just a website not about any topic but about author? I dont know. What does makes a website blog... ? -

Our #ODSBriefcase module hasn't changed an iota since it was created in the early days of the #Blogosphere.
What's changed is the fact that more tools are now using existing open standards (#RSS, #ActivityStreams, #Atom, #ActivityPub etc.) thanks to the #Web20 implosion (punctuated by #Twitter's recent dysfunction).
Open standards ensure interoperability and loose-coupling -- which ensures better solutions and longevity :)

@liaizon @matt we're a small team by 5 members. the #noblogo reference was from the "No Logo" book and that we wanted a blog network different from the mainstream "blogo" blog network
We liked the assonance to #noblogs as we share same values
the network was running really nice till 5/6 years ago then we faced so many attacks & huge google penalization, then we had so many issues, we decided to start over again, fediverse & writefreely are exciting like #blogosphere & #wordpress on early 2000!
