  1. The BlinkOn 21 conference is in the books. If you want to catch up on some of the amazing talks, check out the full playlist: youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9i. I'm mostly involved in the work on Web AI youtu.be/q1iK35I9TPU?si=jiZdwo myself.

  3. I hate AI-generated slides. Most #BlinkOn presenters have the sense not to use them, but the others generate extremely busy slides, in which I can't tell which text and images are actually relevant to the presentation, vs which are just fluff.

  4. "Which one of the throw-away engines?" 💀 #BlinkOn 21 Web History Panel.

Standout reminder of "post-IE6" era when Microsoft was building and scrapping engine(s) to catch the modern web.

    Brutal reality:

1️⃣ Investment vs. Legacy: Modernize the engine while "trawling" for infinite legacy bugs.

2️⃣ "One-Way Door": Watching users switch browsers because a site broke.

3️⃣ Engineering Morale: Wanting to build the future, not just maintain legacy.

  11. RE: floss.social/@igalia/116414768

This year I will not attend #BlinkOn (my lightning talk about Container Timing is pre-recorded). I will still be active on the conference chat. But a great representation of @igalia will be there!

  12. The Container Timing API is officially moving to a Chromium Origin Trial (M148 to M153)! 🚀.

Read my new blog post for more info and registration details: ✍️ blogs.igalia.com/dape/2026/04/.

I will also be presenting a year-in-review lightning talk of the work in Container Timing: 🗣️ April 21st in #BlinkOn 21. I won’t be on-site this year, but I’ll be active on the conference Slack. Catch the talk and let’s connect there!

  13. About to present “CSS Parser Extensions” at the CSS Working Group F2F meeting.

It’s a wild idea I have to fix CSS polyfilling once and for all. My goal is to seek interest from the WG so that we can explore this further.

I also pitched this at #BlinkOn earlier this year.

  14. I’m at #BlinkOn. I gave a presentation about CSS Parser Extensions, a wild idea I have to fix CSS polyfilling once and for all.

(Personal idea, nothing official about this)

  15. My prerecorded lightning talk on the recent DevTools mobile device emulation improvements I did for @igalia will be part of today's second lightning talk session at #BlinkOn. Tune in at 14:35 PDT (if you registered for BlinkOn), in a little over five hours!

For everyone who didn't register there'll be a video available shortly.

  16. It was great to see a packed room at #BlinkOn today, all there to hear about the progress on Scoped View Transitions.

  17. Ha! @jarhar presenting about customizable select at the #blinkon breakout

  18. Great statement at #blinkon by @cdub

"Chrome is the 4th browser I've worked on. They've all had majority market share. 2 of them don't even exist anymore. The web platform remains. It outlives browsers, engines, companies even."

  19. Excited about getting the whole visual order thing sorted out in CSS...
(A slide from #blinkon presentation introducing blink/standards work on this problem)

  20. Excellent point during #blinkon 19 presentation about interop: while we're happy to celebrate all we accomplished, there's a lot more to do!!!

  21. #BlinkOn starts tomorrow! I will be doing two presentations this time.

First, a breakout session about Linux #Chromium running in low #memory devices. Can Chromium run in a 512MB device? How can Chromium better support those scenarios?

And second, a lightning talk about the work I have been involved to improve the #V8 support for native stack walking profiling.

See you at BlinkOn! cc @igalia

  22. I’m nervous to share, but today @briankardell interviewed me at #BlinkOn about the History of the Web, blended with my own history. It was a fun conversation, even if it weird to talk about myself rather than nerd stuff. vimeo.com/871529859/a49eca8372

  23. Day three of #BlinkOn 18 (the last day) is now under way, and we have two talks on today’s schedule — one from @andreu and one from @bkardell and @stubbornella.

  24. And the last #BlinkOn 18 talk of the day: our own José Dapena Paz talking about the challenges of maintaining a downstream fork of Chromium. We have a lot of experience in this area!

  25. Two of our #BlinkOn 18 talks for today are in the history books, with one more still to come.

  26. Day two of #BlinkOn 18 is starting any second now, and once again we’ll have 3 Igalians — today it’s José Dapena Paz, Byungwoo Lee, and Zakhar Voit — presenting talks!

  27. Today is the first day of #BlinkOn 18, and we’re proud to say 3 Igalians — José Dapena, Max Ihlenfeldt, and Andreu Botella — are presenting talks!

    Schedule: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d

    Livestream: meet.google.com/xsr-pmsi-bxz

  28. This week I will be attending BlinkOn 18. You are still in time to attend to, at least remotely! chromium.org/events/blinkon-18

I will do two presentations this time.

On tuesday, I will present a lightning talk where I will talk about the updates to the status of #GCC support in #Chromium.

Then, on wednesday, I will host a breakout session about the challenges of maintaining #downstream projects on top of Chromium.

    See you at #BlinkOn!

    cc @igalia

  29. Hey, reminder that I'll be giving two talks next week at #BlinkOn about the two projects I'm working on: a lightning talk about my progress implementing `line-clamp` in Chromium on Tuesday and a 30-minute talk about how AsyncContext fits together with task attribution on Thursday. Be sure to check them out if you're interested!

  30. Back at home after #BlinkOn. Thanks to #Google for hosting it! It was great to be back on site and meeting again #Chromium community.

The best thing? We were 12 from #Igalia on site. So we took the opportunity to host a codecamp in Sunnyvale and spend some time together.

  31. Yesterday, I delivered my lightning talk at #BlinkOn about my work for #Igalia to improve #Chromium #Windows native stack profiling. This work has been sponsored by #bloomberg

Today I am starting a series of 3 blog posts about native call stack profiling. First part is an introduction to the topic: blogs.igalia.com/dape/2022/11/

  32. #BlinkOn starts tomorrow. I will be attending on site and presenting a lightning talk about my work with #Chromium native stacktrace profiling for Windows. See you there! #Igalia
