Im Juli hatte ich mir nen neuen Rechner geholt, AMD Ryzen 9, 12 Kerne, mit einer nVidia 5070 mit 16 GB, 64 GB RAM, 2 TB SSD. Und ein bisschen Blingbling.
Der Hauptgrund war, lokale KI Modelle ausführen. Äh, nein, der Hauptgrund war, XCOM, XCOM 2 und Starcraft II in voller Auflösung auf meinem 4K Monitor zu spielen.
Die Beste Nachricht zuerst: Alle Ziele erreicht.
Die schlechte: Mein System mit drei Monitoren zieht jetzt grob 100 W im normal Modus mehr (Grob 250 W, hier wird der Prozessor schon auf unter 3 GHz heruntergetaktet). Unter Volllast zieht das System 550 Last und dabei wird noch nicht einmal die CPU ausgelastet, denn die lasse ich auf Stromspar-Modus. Der Sprung kommt alleine durch die GraKA, klar, der ganze Renderquatsch wird ja weitgehend auf der nVidia gemacht.
Und das heisst, der Prozessor ist weitgehend egal, also lass ich den im Stromsparmodus.
Meine größte Sorge war, dass der Rechner laut sein könnte. Ist er aber beim normal arbeiten nicht. Die einzigen Lüfter, die ständig ein wenig laufen, sind die Lüfter für die Wasserkühlung (drei Lüfter ganz oben). Die vier Gehäuselüfter drehen nur sehr selten mal. Und die von der GraKa sind auch nur selten an. Was am lautesten ist, wobei laut hier relativ ist, ist tatsächlich die Pumpe der Wasserkühlung.
Also alles gut?
Nein. Das Gigabyte-Board ist Müll. Zum einen hat mir das letzte Update die RGB Steuerung vermurkst, einschl. dauerleuchtender roter Warn LED dass mit der CPU ein Problem sei, obwohl da keines ist, ich werde die wohl mal mit schwarzem Isolierband abkleben, weil die mich nervt. Zum anderen hat das Mainboard als die RGB-Beleuchtung noch über das Board ging das WOL nicht konstant hinbekommen. Manchmal (selten) ging es, aber meistens hat die Beleuchtung und die Lüfter kurz gezuckt und dann war wieder alles aus. Seit die RGB-Beleuchtung über einen kleinen Controller mit SATA-Stromanschluss läuft, gab es noch nie ein Problem. Der Rechner fuhr hoch und war schneller da, als ich die drei Monitore anmachen konnte.
Ich denke, das MB wird bei mir nicht alt werden...
Und sonst?
Naja, eigentlich hätte ich gerne ne GraKa mit 32 oder mehr VRAM :-)

Nach vielem Überlegen ist es eine #Garmin 265s geworden. Explizit die kleinere "s" Version. Die allermeisten Uhren sind mir einfach zu fett am Handgelenk, insbesondere wenn man sie zum Schlaf Tracking auch nachts tragen will. Ist ja großartig was die Uhren inzwischen alles können, aber wenn der Preis dafür ist, dass man gefühlt eine Stahlkugel am Arm rumschleppt... 😖
