You couldn't make this up - a newly blind Tiktok creator (that.blind.guy7) is being threatened with an account ban because his videos all look the same.
The videos in question are bodycam footage as he learns how to get to the shops and back with a cane. Viewers comment helping him to make sense of things that were confusing him on his journey, or pointing out objects that he might bump into in future.
We can tell that it's different every time, as he makes new mistakes and improves with practice, but the machines that monitor us aren't attuned to that sort of thing - they just see the same streets, the same park, the same Dollar Tree, all navigated with the same cane. So he's been incorrectly flagged as posting the same video over and over again, and one more strike on his account will result in a ban.

For Spring '22, I will be making History of the English language materials such as maps, tables of runes, descent trees, and chain shift diagrams accessible to people with visual impairment using the PIAF machine at my university. Very excited about this!
