If you are experiencing symptoms after #BLFC2024 but have tested negative for Covid, we urge you to
1) WEAR AN N95 MASK to avoid spreading whatever it is you do have, and
2) KEEP TESTING, as it can take time for Covid to be detected by rapid tests, even after symptoms appear.

Watching the demographic shift between #BLFC2024 attendees and regular casino-goers, I understand more why the hotel loves this con now. The con-goers really are that much kinder & attentive, and aside from really wanting to bump some tracks, we seemed to be a lot cleaner.

It's the last day of #BLFC2024, this has been an excellent con. I even got a chance to meet a distant Deaf co-worker at a meetup, and thanks to the con's excellent support crew we were able to have an interpreter in the room, so we could include him in our conversations even though we're not fluent in ASL.

Some CO2 readings taken from around @blfc:
Main stage (dance): 1000 ppm
Main stage (fursuit festival): 1300 ppm
Dealers den: 2300 ppm
Room party: 5000 ppmAt 2300 ppm, 5% of the air you're breathing came from other people's lungs.
At 5000 ppm, it's 12%.
You can't do anything about the ventilation in your hotel room, but you can run air filters, which will help remove the viruses that cause "con crud". Didn't bring one, or didn't bring enough? That's where we come in!

The less polite version of the BLFC dealer's den announcements for y'all
- Get a ticket on the BLFC reg website. If you don't have a ticket, don't waste space or time by lining up.
- Get in line no more than 30 minutes before your ticketed time. Don't make the overcrowding worse.
- Have your QR code from your email before you go downstairs. Don't count on Wi-Fi down here. Everyone knows it sucks.
- Have your badge and QR code ready before you get to the door. That'll keep things moving. If you're holding up the line, people will judge you like they'd judge a grandmother writing a check for McDonald's.
- If you know you're done in the den for now, leave. Yes, there are hangout spaces in the den. But on day one, let's avoid overcrowding the room.

The food stands in the con space are supposed to be half off, right? Because I got charged $10 for a breakfast burrito and there's no way in hell this is half off a normal price of $20.

Our stately filter fans can grace your @blfc room party with >300 cfm of clean air delivery per unit. In a typical room at the GSR, that's equivalent to changing out all the air in the room 4 times every hour. And they come with sticker space too!

Day one of BLFC was, overall, wonderful. We need to do better at managing our energy level throughout the day, but when the energy was there, today was wonderful. Really looking forward to the rest of the con.
