I don't fancy Andy #Burnham's policies or personnel. They look like #Blairism in a Hovis wrapper.
But I give him 19 out of 10 for dumping the collar & tie, at least when he's Manchester Andy.
He now has the status to end the absurd petty tyranny of the #CollarAndTie in British public life. If he stands his ground, others will follow.
In my grandfather's generation, all men were required to wear a tie. Now it's gone in the arts, tech, cops and many other jobs. Time to finish it off.

Some still seem more opposed to "#Blairism" and "abandoning socialist policies" than the prospect of an increasingly far right Tory party turning the country into Hungary, to the point that they'd spoil their ballots or vote for minor parties with no chance of winning any seats over it. (Doing so for other reasons excepted.)
As US elections should've shown us by now, not voting to stop the far right winning seats (under a non-PR system) is a de facto vote for them.

If radicals fail to make clear demands on #KeirStarmer, #NewLabour’s old guard will take advantage, writes the economist @Meadwaj.
‘#Starmerism’s default setting is managerial and its default mode of address is to the political centre. Without a defence of the more radical elements of his programme, as they come under attack from the remnants of #Blairism, a reversion to the #Westminster status quo is virtually guaranteed.’

It's interesting #Labour trying to go back to the #Blairism days. There is one key difference between 1997 and now: in 1997 the web was new and mostly unused; now everyone uses the web.
When reading about support for #BDS I have read how the web helped to grow awareness while the corporate news failed to report.
The antisemitism smears used to silence critics of apartheid Israel began around 2000, when people started to use the web more to find out about world events.
