It seems to me that Black Sails is a pretty great show, with really good script writing.

Am I wrong? Do I just like some pseudo-deep shit just because I enjoy the show?

So, Spouseman and I have embarked on a watching of Black Sails just in time for International Talk Like A Pirate Day.

So far it's a truly interesting TV show. Ahistorical, but with a startling attention to detail in the writing and staging.
Like, they wanted to be historically accurate-ISH, but not anywhere it would interfere with including more Hot Chicks Getting Nekkid scenes or excuses to have bloody brawls with swords.

Manchmal führt es bei mir zu neuen Erkenntnissen, alte #Fernsehserien wieder zu sehen. Nachdem ich #Hornblower von 1999 wieder ansah, merkte ich, wie schlecht #BlackSails von 2017 eigentlich ist.

Als ich Black Sails das erste Mal sah, hatte ich einfach Spaß an einem unterhaltsamen Abenteuerstoff, wobei mir damals schon aufstieß, wie schlecht "Seemannsgarn" a la "Pirates of the Caribbean" mit realhistorischen Geschehen und realen Charakteren zusammenpasst.

The Black Sails theme is an eternal banger and was one of the highlights of the show every night. My mastered board mix from the Chicago stop of Bear McCreary's Themes and Variations tour. Aside from ME I'm playing Mad Max, a great open world game which definitely screams the same vibes I loved in the movies series.
