Succede anche questo, che io decida di riprendere in mano una rubrichetta lasciata a marcire sei anni fa. Semplicemente perché no. O perché ho trovato cose interessanti sull’internet che vorrei appuntare e mettere da parte.
Le spiattello là, senza tanti preamboli, iniziando con una bella foto di una band che mi permette di collegare questo quinto episodio dei collegamenti al quarto del novembre 2020, che pure si apriva con un’immagine che aveva un tema simile. Loro qua sotto sono i Black Mountain, una band che per un periodo ho tenuto in buona considerazione, ma non abbastanza, e sulla quale mi sono deciso a tornare in questi primi giorni dell’anno (mi sto consumando su In the Future, 2008). La foto è di Magdalena Wosinska.
Proseguo con un bellissimo live bootleg dei Television che ho trovato sul fediverso grazie al bot @livetapes. Il concerto è quello all’Earth Tavern di Portland, OR del 2 luglio 1978 e, per quanto il suono sia grezzo, è bellissimo (ma questo potrei averlo già detto).
Poi c’è questo gioco che hanno fatto lə tipə di Mixcloud, di provare a immaginare e predire i trend musicali del 2026. A parte una eccessiva insistenza sulla nostalgia, dalla quale mi dissocio categoricamente, e il solito ritrito ritorno del rock (che poi significa il ritorno del rock in classifica), ci sono delle cose interessanti, tra le quali la rinascita dei lettori CD, degli iPod e dei lettori mp3, che sto vedendo palesarsi davanti ai miei occhi sul fediverso (per dire), e che sinceramente spero che accada più per la voglia di affrancarsi dagli algoritmi che per la nostalgia di una qualche stupida età dell’oro. La cosa più interessante che viene fuori dall’articolo è però questo dato: la crescita di circa il 25% dei ricavi della musica indipendente nel 2024. Spero davvero stia finendo il periodo di vacche magre.
Cambiando tema e mondo, ci spostiamo nelle Americhe per leggere il comunicato del Partito comunista del Venezuela sulla recente aggressione militare imperialista statunitense che ha portato al rapimento di Maduro e consorte. Due cose semplici vengono fuori dal comunicato: la condanna dell’azione e il rifiuto dell’ingerenza statunitense, da una parte, e la condanna del regime autoritario di Maduro dall’altra. In chiusura, l’appello per una soluzione politica popolare, democratica e autonoma alla crisi. Sono posizioni, queste, che se mettiamo in moto il cervello e una vera solidarietà internazionalista, possiamo produrre anche a queste latitudini, per sgomberare le piazze da chi caccia i venezuelani dalle manifestazioni di solidarietà al Venezuela con parole agghiaccianti degne della peggiore destra (non linko niente, ma si trovano i video online).
Dal Venezuela al fediverso, per sottolineare l’operazione benemerita deə compagnə di Bida, che recentemente hanno annunciato: l’apertura di un’istanza PeerTube, sulla quale si possono caricare video fino a 5 gb e fare dirette streaming; l’attivazione di un’istanza Matrix per la messaggistica istantanea; e l’attivazione di un servizio di hosting gratuito per Mastodon diretto a «collettivi e realtà che vogliono gestire la propria istanza».

L’anno scorso, sempre sul fediverso, ho preso a postare una sfilza di dischi con l’hashtag #LaMusicaDel2015 (se sei su mastodon.uno non vedrai niente, perché il mio account su Puntarella è bloccato dagli amministratori della tua istanza). L’idea, replicabile ogni anno, è di recuperare e ricordare i grandi album usciti dieci anni prima. È una lotta contro i mulini a vento per spostare il discorso musicale sul contemporaneo; ma è anche, più semplicemente, un modo per recuperare dischi che ci siamo dimenticatə nella furia insensata di correre sempre avanti.
Avendo iniziato in pieno autunno, e siccome sono lento e incostante e c’è un sacco di roba nuova da ascoltare (e di lavoro da fare), l’operazione 2015 ha tracimato nel 2026. Memore della cazzata, quest’anno ho iniziato per tempo per avere tutto l’anno davanti. L’hashtag da usare e da seguire è #LaMusicaDel2016, non ci sono limiti di genere e l’unica regola è di postare dischi che all’epoca erano nuovi (le ristampe sono dunque escluse).

My friend's neighbor has family in black mountain and he is taking a truck load of supplies (water, batteries, canned food, gas) up from CLT tomorrow.
I40 west is closed so they are planning to go 74 to 26N and then head back east.

FEMA assistance is in route to our area. Also, potable water supplies are in route to our area. Communication systems including cellular service and internet service remain sparse at this time. Please be advised that power may be out for multiple days as crews begin to assess and repair damages. The interstates remain closed at this time which includes Interstate 40 and Interstate 26.
