Up at 03:45 for a trip to #Dorset Good views of #Nightingale. Garden Warbler too. Even managed an atmospheric record shot. Then, later in the afternoon, to #BlackHoleMarsh #Seaton for the Black-winged Stilt; both still present (male & female). #UKBirding #birds #Devon #birdsofmastodon

I visited Black Hole Marsh, #Seaton early this morning to check out the first breeding #Devon #Avocet. It was peaceful and quiet and the Avocet were all present and correct - two adult, three young. Lovely to see this elegant wader. And they also lived up to their feisty reputation as parents - seeing off any birds that came too close

Lovely to see this elegant wader. And they also lived up to their feisty reputation as parents - seeing off any birds that came too close
