    When the area was neglected, the Black Gate & the Castle were divided by a Victorian railway viaduct (carrying the east coast main line). This is the view from under its arches flickr.com/photos/woolamaloo_g

    To be fair, at that period the area was a slum and the old fortifications left to rack and ruin.

    CW: Privesc Spoiler for OffSec PG:Practice

    Doing #Blackgate on #Offsec #Practice. Got all excited that I'd get to potentially play with strace, strings, and other binary analysis tools for privesc. Only to be let down that the path was a straight forward PwnKit exploit. It felt like the hacking equivalent of Event Horizon. First half was great! Second half kinda yawn.
