Pirra and Frost’s story is $1 on Barnes and Noble!
Guuuuyyyyyssssss. The story about a cute black fairy and the dragon shifter she’s trying to save from his crazy ass ex! It’s partially written in a poetry style, too! (No rhyming going on)
Take a look! https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/an-alien-space-dragon-and-a-fairy-lponi-baldwin/1149240854

from Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome by Dr Joy DeGruy
When we commit a negative act or think about doing so most of us get uncomfortable. This discomfort is caused by the difference between our action and what we believe about

I was happy for [my brother] Lester, but I would wait for him to tell me about his getting married. I didn’t want to make him feel bad for making me feel bad. That’s what real friendship was all about. Or any relationship, for that matter. You wanted the other person’s happiness as much as, or more, than your own. Lester deserved love. Hell, everyone deserved love.

Slavery is a brutal institution in any society, yet it seems the treatment of slaves by Europeans was particularly so. In ancient Greece, Rome and

And when crimes become heinous enough, as in wars of aggression, genocide and enslavement, the perpetrators have little choice but to dehumanize their victims.

There were always men [on death row] yelling and moaning and crying—every single night.

“Can they put me to death while you are investigating and we’re appealing?” I held my breath.
“No, Mr. Hinton. They can’t put you to death while your case is in the courts.”
I put my head down on the table and took a few breaths. When I lifted my head back up, I knew I had tears in my eyes, but [his white woman attorney] Santha didn’t say anything about that [which was a kindness].

We banged on the bars for Dunkins and for Richardson [when they were being executed on death row], just so they both knew they weren’t alone.

Compatible with the principle of maintaining harmony and connectedness, much of the political arrangement of African societies was decentralized, showing little concern for control over territories.

I didn’t even realize they had executed Wayne Ritter until I smelled his burned flesh. I didn’t know Wayne—I didn’t know anyone yet—but in the middle of the night on August 28, 1987, there was the sound of a generator kicking on and then hissing and popping

The guards practiced their ritual for killing him, and then they would ask him how he was doing and did he need anything—as if they weren’t rehearsing his murder. It was gruesome to watch, and it only made Michael Lindsey’s terror grow.

First #book of the year, and very likely to be my favourite book of the year (yes, it was released last year) - Service, by John Tottenham. An essential read if - a) you've ever worked in an independent #bookshop, b) you enjoy #BlackBooks, or c) you're a grumpy misanthrope with a literary background. I don't believe I've ever identified with the protagonist of a novel more than this. (I had to check the author several times just to make sure someone hadn't secretly published my diaries.) #books #Service #JohnTottenham #booksoftheyear https://www.semiotexte.com/service

Be honest with me. Will I ever find another programme that is as funny as #BlackBooks ?
I have watched it quite a few times and it still makes me laugh.
I could really do with some funny programmes now, preferably British.
Any tips? Needs to be not on a streaming service as I don't support them.
