Vivre en paix

Il est essentiel pour l’homme de vivre dans la paix.

Ceci veut dire qu’il lui faut mener une vie paisible.

Ce mot « mener » implique la totalité et non pas la partie.

Ceci est-il possible pour un esprit, pour un cerveau qui a été entraîné, éduqué, conditionné pendant des siècles et des siècles à vivre, à accepter une formule de vie empreinte de conflits.

Les cellules cérébrales elles-mêmes y sont habituées.

Notre point de vue sur la vie est ennemi de la paix.

Toute notre structure sociale, morale, éthique et religieuse est ennemie de la paix.

Cette structure psychologique créée par l’homme au moyen de la soi-disant évolution pendant des siècles et des siècles fait partie de nous-mêmes.

Nous sommes cela.

Ce n’est pas une réponse que de fuir cette structure en se réfugiant dans un monastère ou dans un hôpital pour aliénés, ou de rechercher des drogues, ou de dire :

« Voyez-vous je suis contre cette guerre, mais dans une autre guerre je me battrais peut-être.

Je suis contre la guerre au Vietnam, mais si mon pays est attaqué, je suis pour ».

Nous avons donc accepté la guerre, qui n’est pas autre chose que notre vie quotidienne poussée à l’extrême ; nous l’avons acceptée comme étant naturelle à la vie.

Les parlotes religieuses où il est question de paix, et de tout ce qui s’ensuit, ne sont pas autre chose que du bla-bla-bla.

C’est un problème véritablement extraordinairement subtil.

Il ne s’agit pas de dire : « Je mène une vie où règne la paix ».

C’est là ce qui a été fait dans tous les monastères et par des gens qui ont renoncé au monde ; mais ils ne mènent par des vies paisibles, intérieurement ils bouillonnent.

Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895-1986) : Il fut un libre penseur, qui s’est promené dans le monde. Il est considéré comme l’un des grands penseurs et maîtres spirituels. Il ne proposait aucune philosophie ou religion. Il expliquait avec minutie les subtils mécanismes de l’esprit humain, et il insistait sur la nécessité d’introduire une qualité profondément méditative et spirituelle dans notre vie de tous les jours. Il n’appartenait à aucune organisation, aucune secte, à aucun pays, ne s’inscrivait dans aucun courant de pensée, politique ou idéologique. Il affirmait tout au contraire que ce sont là les véritables facteurs qui divisent des hommes et entraînent les conflits et les guerres. Citation : Ce que je vous demande, c’est d’ouvrir votre esprit, non de croire.

Manuel Neuer ist auch der Torwart mit dem wir bei den letzten Weltmeisterschaften in der Vorrunde ausgeschieden sind. Als ob das ganze gelingen der WM nur von ihm abhängt. Der Torwart ist bestimmt unser kleinstes Problem.

but at least they have a real remote job filter. seek just throw "hybrid" and remote in together which is pretty useless when a lot of the jobs are only 1 or 2 days a week from home.

Before I get on to #ShitPostSaturday - I want to spend a couple of moments talking about one of my favorite topics: Me.

Well, in this case - about my experiences both here on Mastodon, and on the site formerly known as Twitter.

I work in infosec, and have worked in that industry for over 20 years - long before these young folks started adding "cyber" to everything. Perhaps because of that, or maybe because of the selection process for funneling folks into an infosec career, I also have a twisted sense of humor.

(I find it really helps if you can crack a joke in the middle of a crisis. Not all folks find my contributions to all incidents equally valuable, but I don't recall that ever preventing me from being my usual idiot self while doing IR.)

So - on the previous site - I followed folks because
a) they tweeted or retweeted infosec stuff
b) they tweeted or retweeted stuff I found funny
c) they tweeted or retweeted infosec stuff I found funny
d) I knew them IRL

So when the previous site began it's turbo-mega-enshitification, it was easy to see the writing on the wall, as many folks left that site for places such as the fediverse. I jumped over here as well - starting on noc.social and eventually ending up on infosec.exchange.

Back then - tools such as fedifinder worked to import your follow list (before ol'musky torpedoed API access for 3rd party apps) and migration to this new world was fairly seamless and effortless.

And I was finding that the infosec news that I was looking for here was better (I recall that the first time that I noticed that I was getting much more up to date and topical information here was during the #MoveIT debacle. That was one of the bellwethers to discontinue participation on the previous site - even if it was to garner intelligence on an incident.)

The second bellwether was something that I had been noticing was the marked increase in pro-gay, pro-trans, pro- LGBTQ+ posts that were in my feed. Which I thought was weird, since I didn't really see a whole bunch of that on the old site. Granted - there is an algorithm there that is about as transparent as a beach on Prince William Sound in March of 1989 - but that certainly couldn't be the complete explanation.

These were the same people that I was following in the fediverse from the old site, and in some cases, taking a quick look at a bio or two, it was clear that they had a very muted personal presence on the other site.

In retrospect, and since I am generally socially oblivious - I have since deduced that environment on the old site is decidedly hostile (and was getting moreso) towards non-cis people.

So it wasn't so much that there were more pro-* posts on the fediverse - it was just that I believe people were much more comfortable in sharing these personal posts and stories here - without the same level of worry about getting dogpiled or doxxed.

It makes me happy to see people being their most authentic selves. I feel that it is safer, both psychologically and physically for everyone - if you can foster a feeling of safety.

Additionally - aside from all of its other issues which are too numerous to document here - X is decidedly hostile to inclusivity. This is not an opinion - this is a fact.

If your company continues to require people to drive engagement on X, or spends advertising money there, I would argue that this anti-inclusivity property is transitive, no matter what color your corporate logo is this month.
