Does anyone have any advice on #bivouac and #wildcamping in #Czechia and #austria? Im planning out a solo hike from #Prague to #Vienna using the Greenway route (GWPW) and there's no way i can guarantee I'll find accommodation every night. I plan on packing an ultralite single person tent (920grams!) So my footprint will be minimal. Any advice would be appreciated, including general advice.

A DD-Hammocks 3x3 Multicam tarp, a duckdown quilt rated down to -5 degrees Celsius, a Sea-To-Summit Rectangular Insulated sleepingpad at 4.2 R-value and a Sea-To-Summit pillow and a VauDe campbivy bivybag, a groundsheet (Elefantenhaut).

En fin de matinée, Tifany et Tristan partent devant, étants plus rapides et ayant des contraintes de timing pour leur voyage. L’après midi est nettement plus laborieux, entre les rafales et l’état des routes, une bonne partie du chemin est faite en poussant. Nous finissons par nous rendre dans une ruine afin de passer la nuit. On croise sur la route des vizcachas, rongeurs des montagnes

Je termine l’étape dans le froid et trempé dans un village fantôme et son église, qui possède quelques endroits abrités pour passer la nuit. La fin de la journée laisse place à quelques éclaircies

04.10.2025 Puno : après avoir pris un bus jusqu’à une ville au bord du célèbre #lac #Titicaca (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lac_Titicaca). On commence à le longer. La route est le plus souvent éloignée de celui ci. Peu avant la ville de Juli, on pose la tente à 3800m en face du lac. Le coucher de soleil est quand à lui splendide, tout comme la vue, avec en face de nous quelques sommets enneigés.

11.09.2025 Lima : les premiers kilomètres pour sortir de la capitale se font sur des pistes cyclables, puis je me retrouve sur la panaméricaine et c’est une toute autre histoire. Je finis par prendre un bus qui m’amène à Pisco (https://fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pisco_(ville)), ville côtière à l’ambiance étrange, avec beaucoup de bâtiments en ruine et de commerces fermés. J’y rencontre les parents de Viktor, une personne qui a crée une cabane pour accueillir les voyageurs en échange d’une donation.

On redescend au centre de visiteur, et parvenons à ouvrir un bâtiment abandonné, moyennant un peu de dextérité pour entrer par une fenêtre qu’il a fallu déverrouiller à l’aide d’un bâton pour finalement ouvrir la porte de l’intérieur. Cela nous épargne la petite tempête que l’on voit se préparer, à l’altitude du mont blanc.

3e - et j'espère, dernier - upgrade de matos de bivouac en hamac, donc. Plus léger, on l'espère un poil plus robuste, et aussi moustiquaire intégrée et compartiment pour matelas ou autre machin à isolement thermique sur le dessous du hamac.
Mais aussi un jeu de rôle! C'est dingue qu'il soit arrivé le même jour, parce que je l'avais commandé il y a un moment (deux-trois jours après qu'on en avait parlé sur mon compte mastodon.art) - au point que je me suis même demandé si j'allais le voir au bout d'un moment.
Le booklet est de très, très bonne qualité, et très beau! Bourré d'artworks apparemment faits à l'aquarelle. Je n'en ai que survolé le contenu, mais je suis agréablement surprise de lui découvrir des règles bien précises et bien expliquées, et une certaine épaisseur : il y a du boulot sur le lore!
Je dis que c'est fou qu'il arrive en même temps que le matos de bivouac, parce que c'est un jeu de rôle épistolaire dont le but est de faire composer à deux correspondants un carnet de voyage à la fois fictif et réel.
Tu rajoutes à ça que je reçois ma nouvelle monture début août (mon vélo actuel il est mignon mais tellement branque que c'est impossible de voyager avec), tu vois où va mon automne.
Il ne me reste qu'à lire ce booklet correctement, et si t'as envie d'envoyer des bafouilles en poste restante sur le chemin d'itinérance d'une correspondante qui y répondra des gribouillages, des photos et des histoires de voyage, fais signe!

@Pollinators I looked it up to be sure and it's the Lorenzo Langstroth's 1861 book Hive and the Honey Bee, which is the third edition. It was not in the first edition.

I made bee swarm bivouacs. It's an old branch with a black sock attached to piece of plywood. The sock is coated with dirty beeswax and some lemongrass oil added. I put them in the closest trees to the hives. I guess the idea it to make it look like cluster of bees so they gather up there if they leave MY hives, instead of 100 feet up in a tree, so they can be captured. It's mentioned in the 1861 Hive and the Honey Bee book by Lorenzo Langstroth.
