  1. After some spontaneous hacking on BitRitters edit mode, i made some good progress: First time i could change values and save them to the database/server.
It really means alot to le because after 2 failed applications for funding i ditched the topic for too long.
It might need a major rework of the UI internals though, but now i am motivated again.

  3. People who build BitRitter from main:
I have moved the vault settings location to respect the XDG directories.
New location should be `$XDG_CONFIG_DIR/bitritter`, so for most linux users it should be `$HOME/.config/bitritter`.

Either you move your .db3 file by hand or setup the vault anew.

Already synced vaultvitems are not affected, since rbw handles those under the hood.

If you have problems, there is a closes issue you can reopen.

  4. Finally rebased some branches for #BitRitter (thanks jujutsu) to get translations and XDG spec working.
When i have inserted all strings, i will tag another release.

Would have given me headaches with plain git.

Nextvon the list is (still) flatpak bundling, then 2 minor issues.

  5. Since i got back into BitRitter development, i had some success in getting Fluent translations up and running. This is something that will stay, sorry gettext etc.
But a bigger achievement was something i did not understand when designing the architecture: RBW provides a daemon that can do the heavy lifting for me and not decryption etc. needed on my end. I misread some stuff about this since i was just a rookie. Big rewrite incoming.

  10. Ok, so i didn't have much time the past year to work on BitRitter, but recently at least i got the initial code working for translations.
I will try to set it up in the next weeks, so we can use the Weblate instance from @Codeberg .

Another thing i was working on in the rare free time was editing entries and saving them to the vault. I got bitten by framework specific stuff, so that will not be solved soon.

  15. Now that my sick days are nearing an end, my grant application for my #FOSS project got rejected. 🥺
I hope i will find enough time between day job and family to develop soon.

Also, i will try to apply to some more funds over the next year.
Thinking about @sovtechfund for instance? What else is there you can recommend?

  20. Seems i need to get more funding for #BitRitter in recent developments about the #BitWarden client licensing.

Though i hope to have plans to have a first "real" release this year.

Never knew it became that urgent and neccessary.

  25. Can somebody invite me - or rather the account for my #foss app (#BitRitter) - to fosstodon.org?

  30. I wanted to maintain #AppStream metadata for #BitRitter so i could use it for #LinuxPhoneApps and #FlatPak packaging. But it is so overwhelming at first when you are not familiar with is.
I wish there was like a guided activity for it like an install wizard back in the days.

  35. Should i register the domain for #BitRitter despite my grant application for @nlnet is still pending?
I have propsed creating and funding the website in the application...
I guess i will try to finish all the stuff i proposed even if my application gets rejected anyway, just with a waaaay longer time span, since i cannot take hours from my $dayjob.

  40. While i am working on $dayjob i can start a compilation of some changes i made to #BitRitter over the past days.
Compiling it on my phone, to get the full experience, takes around 10-15 minutes in `--release` mode on my #OnePlus6t, so it can run while i do my normal work.

No bug changes, just cleaning up deprecated widgets and stuff.

  45. I should really upgrade #BitRitter to the latest #LibAdeaita widgets. I am still on Leaflet, which is deprecated for some time already.
On another note, i should properly register the app on @linuxphoneapps.

So much to do, so little time.

  50. Today I will just complete some #Clippy issues in #BitRitter and maybe clean up some code to make the login process more robust out transparent for the user.
Maybe I will try tackling some major tasks after this has been ironed out.
Basic list sorting has been implemented on the way.
