Had a great time at #BISG's Annual Meeting yesterday, a timely reminder that people are the main reason I'm still in the industry.
Book publishing often gets knocked as a "legacy industry" (mostly by disgruntled authors, wannabe disruptors, and outside observers), and while that's technically true, it's also weathered the digital transition better than other media industries, albeit in less visible ways.
Things still need to get better, but they could also easily be much worse.
