  1. I've used this "It takes a village" concept map for 20 years to visualize the wide range of people who need to be involved in helping kids born or living in high poverty areas move safely from #birthtowork. It's in my article at tutormentor.blogspot.com/2024/

To build a network you need to "know the network", or have a library/database of people who need to be connected. That's what I've been building since 1993.

  2. This article on the #Tutor #Mentor blog shows my use of #ConceptMaps to visualize roles leaders need to take to help all youth born or living in high poverty areas get the extra, on-going, support they need to move from #BirthToWork. tutormentor.blogspot.com/2021/

Does someone have a similar collection for your city/state?

  3. On home page of tutormentorexchange.net I share links to my #tutor #mentor blogs & encourage people to read them weekly. #SuperBowl2024 is over but the work of helping kids from #birthtowork continues.

  4. Most of my feed focuses on politics and war.

I find too few talking about teams needed to help youth from high poverty areas move from #birthtowork. Find this graphic in article at tutormentor.blogspot.com/2023/

I write from experience. The teens in the 1990s photo include the young women who spoke at our 2010 dinner & now is mother of two college students. We're connected on FB.

We supported these teens via organized non-school program. More like it are needed in many places.

  5. I'm now on Threads at threads.net/@danielf.bassill

This adds one more place i need to stop every day to try to find people working strategically to help kids in high poverty areas of #Chicago & other places move from #birthtowork w help of volunteers they meet in organized #tutor #mentor programs.

I hope to connect w #clmooc friends there, too. I'd love to find people from youth serving orgs, but don't find many on any of my newer platforms.
