Look what I found!! I used to watch Wild America with Marty Stouffer... well... all the time. This episode is all about quails.

The E29 crew of Oakland Firefighters Local 55 answered a call to put out a vehicle fire, after which a pigeon came up to them in distress. It appeared to have suffered smoke inhalation from the burning vehicle, so they administered oxygen. The bird flew safely away once its lungs were cleared out. 🩶

A young Tufted Titmouse is very put out by the bird it can see in the lens. "Go find your own feeder, you jerk!" 🤣
Very often, the crest abruptly pointed straight up, as here, indicates agitation.
This was taken with a Bird Buddy camera; don't know whose.

My faith in human beings is not the highest these days 🙄 , but it always gets a boost when I see something like this.
A woman saves a fledgling crow that had fallen into a water-filled trough. She took note of the crow family, as well, and made sure they knew she was doing the best for their baby. 🖤 :crow: 🖤

A beautiful (and hungry) blue jay chows down on a tomato at a farm stand. 🍅 💙 🤍 🖤 🥰
The people observing the bird and commenting are very kind, offering it more to eat and making no effort to run it off.

Nineteen (count 'em: 19!) sweet little quail chicks and their parents take a long drink of water in the desert. 🤎 🤍 🩶 🖤 Look at those fluffy "baby plumes" on their heads!
I don't know the videographer, but I believe this is in Arizona.

And since we're on California Quails...
It's so much fun to watch these borbulous birbs as they dust bathe, peep and cheep, preen, and just look so cute I can't stand it!

A #WilsonsSnipe in a pool of icy water. They search out food while they bounce up and down; this one might also be trying to keep warm. Dance, birdie, dance!

I installed a trail cam to watch my friendly neighborhood bird visitors. A Red-headed Woodpecker stopped by on day 1!
So delightful. I once saw 3 of them at Montrose Bird Sanct. but way up in a tree. Never imagined I'd see one hang out on my deck.
This is a compilation plus some slowed down clips because they move fast. My fave part is his antics w the sparrows.

Russell Crow the Rook Star!
He's about two years old in this video. Presently, Russell is seven, and is king of Helen and Tristan Motteram's household. Recently, he had to have his right eye removed due to an abscess (fortunately, it was benign), and is still recovering from that, but frequent "duvet days" with Helen make him feel a lot better.

Oh, my ❤️ !! 😊 🥰 😘
I've been following Alwyn Wils on the YouTube channel "A Chick Called Albert" for quite a while now. The original "Albert" was a quail he hatched from a supermarket egg. All his videos are worth watching.
One of the latest is saving and hatching the egg of a zebra finch that was unexpectedly laid in a transport box as he was bringing it to his aviary. It's the tiniest, cutest thing you ever saw.
Alwyn maintains a rescue/sanctuary in the Netherlands for birds and all kinds of other animals.

Yeah, sex is cool and all, but have you ever had a mama #Mallard look at you like this & then swim over to you with a ridiculously cute waddling of #ducklings trailing behind & then stick around to beg for birdseed with the cutest quacks?
I only saw her around the Wood Ducks so I spent way too long after comparing #WoodDuck & Mallard duckling photos trying to determine if there's a chance they're hybrids. I still couldn't say.

This is a stunning video about all kinds of birds of prey. :buzzard:
Yes, technically vultures are birds of prey. However, rather than having sharp hooked talons meant for grasping and lifting, they're like giant chicken feet, meant for walking and holding down whatever they're eating. So no, in spite of the urban legends spread by people who are unnerved by them, they are not going to carry away your pet or your baby!!!
Beautiful still photographs and drawings, as well as video clips.
