I know y’all hear that Austin TX is weird, but the Bird Thawing event in Syracuse NY demands respect.
As far as I can tell, a local gaming store (Megaton Games) posted a flyer for a random event in which a (toy) bird frozen in a block of ice was to be thawed in public near their store. The event became a viral meme, and a bunch of people showed up. There was live music and food and general partying until the cops shut them down.
And yes, the bird was thawed. Now you know.
