After working a lot this week, I finally had a day off and got to play in the garden. I planted a tree, put the pond in and got flower seeds in the gorund. The #birds seem very happy, they cannot stay out of it. It is so easy to get used to certain things and then feel bummed when they suddenly stop working. I’ve used my Birdsy cams since 2019 now, and when they had a server maintenance yesterday, it was awkward to not see what is going on. Today, everything is back in order again, and you can watch my streams at ostdrossel.com and at birdsy.com again. Activity is still low, except for a wild group of #Starlings.

A mouse has made a home under the ground feeder, feeding from everything that falls to the ground. Last night, a fox visited and then this happened. I have seen this in videos before but did not think it would happen here. I love the markings on this beautiful creature, and I hope he was able to find some food at some point (I don’t think he got the mouse).

I have a love-hate relationship with these guys, especially right now that they have discovered the peanut butter and chewed through two cam cables in a week because I am not putting seeds out and they try everything. Meet The Jackhammer 😆 This American Red Squirrel is one of the feistiest critters I have here, I often see him/ her chasing the bigger squirrels around. And he is guarding that branch. Apparently, the rattle serves to identify himself to others.

The Dark-eyed #Juncos have settled in, and they love visiting the branch cam. I always find it fascinating how different they look up close.
