Hello, dear followers. It looks like #Birdsy has finally come to an end, the servers seem to be offline. This means I will have to finally sit down this weekend and find a streaming solution. Please bear with me, this may take a bit (I have tried a bit with foggy head earlier this week and could not get it to work). In the meantime, I have trailcams out in various spots to capture clips and photos but it is of course not the same as a livestream. 1/

It has been a sad season for #hummingbirds so far but look who came today! And to the Allura feeder to boot ❤️ I am livestreaming this camera, and hopefully there will be some more visits coming up.

It is always funny to me how seemingly stunned they look to find nobody at the scene yet hearing all the scolding from the trees. At first I thought this one would take a bath, but nope. It has been very dry here, so maybe it will come back. Such a beautiful bird.

The #Robins started hatching today! Mom and Dad share feeding and diaper duties, and they are such fresh parents that they still seem to be unsure how to do it. You can see Dad bringing some food and Mom wanting to feed it to the baby but then letting him do it when he seemingly insists. The #Bluebird couple has been bringing their babies from brood 1 that they raised in a different spot down to the backyard recently to introduce them to feeders and bath. The female is spending a lot of time in the box but I don’t think she is done laying yet. As of this morning, she has four eggs. Here, first she comes in, then a baby. Fun surprise visitor today - a Northern #Flicker! They are quite large #woodpeckers, and this is a male, as you can tell from his "mustache". I love how feisty he was with the Starlings. And I hope he will return.

It was funny to see how the birds are coping with the ice when this hilarious food fight happened by the tree cam. The #Juncos are having a hard time getting a grip while the Downy #Woodpecker manages quite well. At the end, a Brown #Creeper also shows up.

#birds mastodon, do you have any advice for a good camera to stream video from a #bird feeder? I just saw some footage from a #birdsy cam and it looked gorgeous, but it seems they don't sell to Europe and also I don't like that the service is cloud based. So if you have any advice for a similar quality outdoor camera, please share.

We are getting hammered with snow today, it looks fabulous outside. And I thought I would share what my treecam setup looks like. Be safe if you have to drive!

I am seeing a lot of ads for "THE AI BIRD FEEDER" and things like that, and I would like to state that I am not using any of these #birdfeeder cameras. For my photos I use a homemade setup with an action camera, and for video and streaming I use #Birdsy cameras. Many of these #feedercams are knockoffs, pricey and not the quality they may promise to be. Don’t spend fortunes on bad products. Companies, I am willing to put your products to the test 🤓
