From the British Fantasy Society:
In this monthly column, we pose your questions to an expert in a specific field of speculative fiction and the wider ‘industry’. This month we're talking about kidlit - the creation, the industry, and the politics - with acclaimed middle grade fiction author Eric Huang.

Here’s a spreadsheet of African lit mags. Support African writers. Read their stuff and buy their magazines. Almost all money paid to the writers comes from the editors’ own pockets. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OSCi0wW8sNOUxVHYCVg0EudNoLDeQmrebyl6TgTkt54/edit#gid=1398659271 #BIPOCWriters #AfricanLiterature #LitMags #Magazines #WritingCommunity #BlackAuthors

I attended an editing workshop yesterday offered by Monique Franz of Kinsman Quarterly. It was about editing stories for submission into writing contests. She showed the rubrics used by the magazine to determine whether or not entries would make it to the next round. It was very informative, and with that and the feedback I’ve received from critique groups, I revised my #LandBack revenge story “The Tupilaq” into something much stronger and entered it into the Iridescence Award competition. https://www.kinsmanquarterly.org/iridescence-award #writing #WritingCommunity #WritingContests #revision #BIPOCWriters
