  1. Somes games are just "comfort food". I haven't finished the BioShock games more than once, but I loved them to bits so I have this need to re-purchase them on pretty much all the platforms that I have.

    Madness. I know.
I've got the BioShock games on Steam, GOG and Epic (got them for free on the latter two).

Then I've bought them on the Switch 1, the Xbox Series X and just recently on the PS5. The whole BioShock Collection.

    This makes absolutely zero sense.

  3. Nach der #Bioshock Enttäuschung habe ich mir zwei kurze #Gaming-Happen zu Gemüte geführt:

    1. "The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit" - Ein kurzes, kostenloses Prequel zum zweiten Teil der „Life is Strange“-Reihe.

  5. The #Bioshock vibes are real at this abandoned conference venue in Germany. While modern, the location features Art Deco-style architecture and decor. These double bass doors lead straight into the former café.

All we need now is a banner saying "Welcome to Rapture".

  9. RE: mastodon.online/@gardiner_brya

I'm only ever in the mood for shooters for a tiny sliver of time, and then go for months (or years) playing all my regular favorite #gaming genres before I feel like playing a fps again.

As such, #Bioshock and its sequels are still lingering on my backlog (Infinite is the one which initially caught my attention).

It helps to read an article like this where the love shines through - gives me some calibration for what to expect, and helps bump up the priority on my backlog.

  13. “Would You Kindly?” A BioShock Retrospective

    > A spiritual successor to System Shock 2 and helmed by Ken Levine of Irrational Games, BioShock tells a compelling narrative. It's the kind of story that only a video game could tell, an irony only a ludonarrative could illustrate, and a warning we should've heeded a long time ago.

  15. Yeah #Bioshock was a commentary on libertarianism, yatta yatta. But it has other layers that I was not aware of way back when I played them.

Some of them are still quite prescient. Involving islands and acting without consequences. This is a quick #YouTube #Shorts from @ Cadaea that was… enlightening.

I’ve been meaning to revisit Rapture. Might be time.
