Thinking: bioregions are layered interactions between geomorphological, ecological, and social regions.
It would be cool to have a federated social network where posts can be marked as related to specific bioregions (perhaps multiple), and would only/primarily appear to people who are associated with those bioregions in some way.

Seeing white power "activists" in Montana using a flag that takes the colors of the Douglas fir flag (aka Cascadian flag) designed by Alexandre Baretich grates deeply; but started me on an interesting set of questions.
Is bioregionalism a white affectation? (Yeah, it is.)
#Bioregionalism was always a flawed and contested political project.
But there was a lot of appropriating indigenous spirituality for white comfort going on in it.

adapted to regional climate and terrain?Peter Hardwick thought so. I came across Peter’s idea while on a course at Robin Francis’ Djanbung Gardens permaculture education centre in Nimbin some years ago.

@jodmentum Thanks. I'm interested in all of this. My feeling is that the finances behind all of this will quickly eclipse what any one municipality or planning board can address. We're going to need a regional / bioregional approach. The way individual states came together during the pandemic to create "cross border bioregional treaties" (my phrase) is a good example. I think FEMA is too high level, and I think the UN is too general.
