The only thing I have right now are VOC visuals.

Nationally, KP.2 in the lead at 12% of random sequencing. The FLiRT variants are not far behind and VERy fast variants KP.3 and LB.1 are still making fast gains even after only a few days.: https://ibb.co/309Ygcj

In PA, classic JN.1 is still at the lead here. We don't have KP.3 here but we do have fast mover LB.1 which is now over 5% of random sequencing.: https://ibb.co/CpyDWkH

Biobot has released a statement saying they are stopping keeping up their COVID-19 wastwater visuals. There's still WastewaterSCAN but only three sheds are on there.: https://ibb.co/2tYPPcm

This is another removal of a GREAT tool that helped everyone stay informed, and gave a heads-up when to buckle down on source control issues.

A very good potential replacement for Biobot is Iowa Covid-19 Tracker and I'll start to try to get familiar with that as soon as I can sit down to do it so the vizzes might look very different soon.: https://iowacovid19tracker.org/

I'm crushed that #Biobot stopped posting real-time county-level #wastewater data. They were the most consistent & transparent source to show that #CovidIsNotOver. Wish they offered subscriptions, I'd pay!

My local #Massachusetts water authority uses Biobot, will this affect their data too?! They don't cover my county exactly, but they're close.

So, forgive me if I just carry on as usual. 😷

(I know viral shedding is higher for latest variants, but I don't think that can account for all of the difference.)

MWRA #COVID19 wastewater data now updated through Tuesday, showing a continued sharp drop-off from the New Year's Eve peak at both sampling points. Now WastewaterSCAN is six days behind, however. (I have no idea how they get out of sync like this; you'd think the #Biobot data would be reported at the same time through both channels.)

One interesting thing is that the wave peaks *at* January 1st. I would have expected it to be after, due to transmission at New Years parties. This could imply that covid waves now are more influenced by population immunity and seasonal factors and less by human behaviors (like having parties)—though I imagine all of the above are factors.

(As ever, I'm not an expert.)

Just went down the rabbit hole of #wastewater monitoring for #covid19, specifically in #Michigan.
WTF???
Looks like #BioBot (https://biobot.io/data/covid-19) is the closest thing to a national test network, but it looks like they have all of 1 county (#Leelanau, a personal fave) and only sporadic data there. Meanwhile, Michigan has SWEEP (https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus/stats/wastewater-surveillance/dashboard/sentinel-wastewater-epidemiology-evaluation-project-sweep) which has a weird patchwork of sources. This would be tolerable except for one thing: they report wildly divergent numbers. 1/n

Welp, for some reason it seems my county has stopped sending #COVID #WastewaterMonitoring data to #Biobot. Cool to know that keeping ourselves safe is entirely up to personal responsibility and also we're just gonna shut down the last tool we had to calculate personal risk tolerance. Nifty. Neat.
