  1. Here is my first 'current creature' for this autumn’s Gravel Art exhibition! I am interviewing each of the participating artists to create a small sound piece based on their work—a manifestation of their art in the form of a 'current creature.'
Since the exhibition is outdoors, I am building the small autonomous beings on printed circuit boards (PCBs), using simple, affordable electronic components.

  2. A 2nd hand treasure, a car radio/kassette, - it works perfectly; 4 channel amp... I might not split it into components, and simply use it as a hifi.... Hm...

  4. Reading James Bridle's "Ways of being". Super relevant for my current artistic research! "Intelligence ... is not something to be tested, but something to be recognized". This is exactly what I'm doing, when I connect a contact mic to a plant, and register what's going on in its #vibrosphere.

  9. Can art help build community and a sense of belonging in a new neighborhood—among people and the more‑than‑human life around us? 🐦‍⬛

When the snow melts and late summer arrives, we’ll be creating art with the local community of Hyllegaard Høje, Sjælland, Denmark, in preparation for our participation in the Positive Traces Festival, August 2026.

  16. „What does a bacterial civilization leave behind?“ von Yitong Tseo (US) – eine Bakterienkolonie, sechs Jahre lang isoliert gezüchtet, über 8.000 Generationen.

  21. „MycoGravity“ – Pilze im All?

  31. Step 3 - It's Alive!

Slime mold woke up and moved out of its paper and onto the oat. It's nomming and growing now.

The two original sclerotia didn't activate, so I used 4 samples more with slightly different conditions. 2 of them are doing great, the others not so much.

I didn't properly measure or jot any data down, so this isn't Science, but now I have a general idea of how this works and I can go for precision next time.

8 year olds are better at this than me.

  36. Step 2

The Physarum (I'm going to need 2 nicknames, feel free to contribute) was dormant on dry paper in its sclerotium form. I cut two pieces and added two drops of water to resurrect them. And some oats for breakfast.

Now we wait. Good luck, Phil and Phyllis.

  40. Step 1

Preparing a couple of Agar petris for an art excercise. I'll be trying to grow Physarum polycephalum.

Considering this is my first attempt to kinda bioart, this could go from very wrong to somewhat not terrible. But it'll be fun sharing some pics.

  45. 🌳 Did you know a single tree can grow 40 types of fruit?

The "Tree of 40 Fruit," created by Professor Sam Van Aken from Syracuse University, showcases horticulture's potential. It produces peaches 🍑, plums, apricots, cherries 🍒, and almonds! 🌸 Grafting, where plant tissues fuse and share vascular systems, made it possible. 👁️ 🎥 👇
