The binturong could be your perfect cinema buddy 😉 , because one of the binturongs' most unusual traits is their smell. These creatures smell like hot buttered popcorn because they release a chemical compound called 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline — the same compound produced during the cooking of popcorn.

Up close, the tail isn't just one colour, but a sea of variety. It has a warm baked scent, feels firm and alive, holds you tight and parks its tip against your nose. Your muzzle, your whiskers. Careful paws knead and shape the tufts of your ears, and the fluffs of your cheeks.

I challenged myself to draw 9 of each character to get their designs more right. Had a lot of fun with this. Some characters are more developed than others. The woman's design I am very close to getting. The yellow-blocky-cat, not so much.

Do you know what a Binturong is? I didn't until I was commissioned to draw one! They're big and fluffy and amble about the rainforest being adorable. Oh, and they smell like popcorn. I'm not totally convinced they aren't a pokemon.
