#XanderSchauffele (the 2020 Olympic Gold Medal Golf winner) wins the #OpenChampionship (aka the #BritishOpen by shooting a -6 w/o a bogey to end the tournament -9 to beat out his playing partner #JustinRose (the 2016 Olympic Gold Medal winner) who shot -4 for the round & -7 for the tournament by 2 shots for his 2nd Major win of the year & in his career. He won the PGA earlier this year.
Yesterday's leader, #BillyHoschel shot -3 for the day & -7 for the tournament to toe Rose for 2nd. So, he didn't fade but just didn't do enough to beat Xander's incredible final round score of 65, which was the same final round score he got when he won the PGA tournament by 1 shot over #BrianDeChambeau who missed the cut in this tournament but won the US Open (his 2nd Major) also earlier this year.
BTW, this year, Xander also finished 2nd in the Masters & 3rd in the US Open. So, he's playing some incredible golf & has a good chance of repeating in defense of Olympic Gold Medal in Golf this year, as well. 👏
