🗺️ Welcome to The Valdai Romance Universe: A Guide to the Archive 🗺️

My alternative 19th-century bilingual world is vast, exploring intense psychological slow-burn dynamics across the asexual spectrum. To help new readers navigate, here are the three distinct layers of my literary work:

📖 1. The Main Canon
The core timeline. An ongoing multichapter emotional saga following the gravity-defying connection between an alien engineer Virgil Carter and a lonely Valdai herbalist Januar Walday.

⏳ 2. Standalone Stories (Canon Companions)
Canon historical layers and side-stories exploring the characters' lives across different eras. This includes deep dives into their youth and past memories, as well as standalone emotional snapshots set in the present and even the future of the main timeline.

🌌 3. Alternative Universes (AU / Spin-offs)
The timelines where the year 1838 remains the absolute, unchangeable anchor of fate. Virgil and Januar are destined to meet in 1838 no matter what, but the circumstances of their crossroads shift dramatically - from a desperate rescue at a lonely estate to a fateful encounter at an old tavern. Deep psychological snapshots exploring intense tactile hunger across the asexual spectrum.

✨ Introducing "The Valdai Romance" (Валдайский Романс) — A 19th-Century Queer & Asexual Canon ✨

Too often, historical narratives erase the quiet, burning intensity of asexual love. I wrote this story to reclaim it.

About the Canon:
A story of fierce tenderness and tactile passion between a young Cleveland gentleman of ancient blood and a mysterious Valdai herbalist. In an alternative 19th century, these two men — who by all laws of chance should never have met — are thrust together by fate.
Their world is woven from endless kisses, lingering embraces, and a sensory intimacy so dense it needs no sexual act to be complete. From this devotion, they build a home and a family where none seemed possible, proving that love is not a script to be followed, but a life to be shared.

It is a slow-burn, emotional MLM fiction exploring toric and asexual spectrum dynamics where love burns hotter without sex. This project is also part of my broader mission: reclaiming the Russian language for queer narratives that are currently suppressed, and bridging them with global queer experiences.

📚 Bilingual & Free Experience:
I am thrilled to share that the first 50 chapters of this canon are now available to read on Medium completely for free.

The text is presented in a bilingual format (Russian & English). Whether you want to immerse yourself in the story, immerse yourself in Russian-English expression, or use it as an engaging tool to practice and learn Russian or English, this format is designed to bridge global queer experiences.

✨ A Story of Exile, Identity, and Asexual Rebellion: Why I Write ✨

In my past creative chapters, I published under other pen names. Today, as an independent queer author in exile, I write under my chosen name - Xeni Davyd.

This is the story of my evolution & my bilingual alternative 19th-century novel, "The Valdai Romance".

I lived under state censorship in the Russian Federation, forced into a mold that wasn't mine. It took more than 7 years of living outside of Russia, healing and deprogramming, to finally clear the fog and discover my true identity:
🔗 I am a masculine non-binary individual. I am a man, not the woman they tried to force me to be. Stepping into my true identity went hand in hand with being queer and asexual. In a world obsessed with hyper-sexuality, being an asexual man is often met with erasure. But I refuse to be invisible. My writing is my ultimate form of rebellion and survival.

Currently, my situation is fragile - displaced, financially vulnerable, and in deep isolation. Yet, through this frost, I choose to create warmth."The Valdai Romance" explores the electric intensity of asexual romantic love - proving passion burns hotter without sex. It follows the slow-burn connection between Virgil Carter, an alien engineer trapped in his own biological coldness, and Januar Walday, a lonely romantic dreaming of supersensual closeness. My mission is to reclaim the Russian language for queer narratives that are currently being suppressed.
