  1. Yesterday Tailfin introduced their new Journey Rack. The successor and evolution of their long-standing Alloy Rack. The familiar quick-release functionality refined. As usual you can mount it w/o need for special mounting points or bosses on your frame. Simply by using a special Thru Axle and a Seat Post Connector. On and off in seconds.

I could test it (alongside with a SpeedPack and their 16 L Panniers) since a few weeks already.

  6. Late last autumn I tested the Speck Gear Mini-Panniers 11.5 L and their Y-Rack. And yesterday I published my review on my Blog. I like them. Nicely made, a rattle free, quick and versatile mounting concept and a sensible compact design. Equally fit for the fork as well as for the rear and being positively out of the way (of your heels, of the head wind, of your thighs and shrubbery when pushing your bike along narrow paths…).

  7. Couldn't see myself being compatible with long top tube bags before. But maybe I am?

Set to find out with this Tailfin Long Top Tube Bag 2.2L. So far I love it's design, construction and shape. Typical great Tailfin engineering.

  12. Does anyone have experience adding additional hand positions to flat #mountainbike bars? I find that my hands start to go numb after a few hours of easy riding (dirt roads or pavement) and it would be nice to have other options.

Apparently people are putting bar ends in-board of their grips now? Seems like a reasonable solution.

  13. Revelate Designs showed a very interesting Aero Bar harness system for true aero (i.e. longitudinal) stowing of a (any) drybag at Sea Otter.

And with interesting expandable side (food) pouches.

As I found from the bikepackingcom reporting: bikepacking.com/plog/2024-sea-
