@geonz asks:
Q5. What are some fun an interesting things people have called out to you?"
(Inspired by "Bright F*in lights!!! I could see you 'way up there!" last night, which housemate says based on her observations are probably my pedal blinkies).

@rasterweb asks:
My bike has hydraulic disc brakes. Last week I took off the front wheel and put it back on a day later and all was normal.A few days later I did it again but when I put it back on my front brakes seemed extra grippy! It took very little pressure on the brake lever to activate the brakes.
Q4. Why might have happened?

@uxMark asks:
I’ve posted a lot recently about my recently-acquired electric Brompton. The change it’s made to my cycling life has been dramatic, particularly when taking it on a train.
Q2. What big changes have you made to your cycling life? Was it a change in gear? (New bike, new accessory?) Or a change in attitude? (Cycling was for leisure, but now for transportation.) Or a change in context/environment? (Improved cycling infrastructure, or a move to a new place.) Something else?

Our intro:
Q1a. Where are you posting from today?
It's a holiday weekend in the States, and it very much feels like seasons are changing. @grammasaurus asks:
Q1b. Here in NY state, It’s really noticeable that days are getting shorter. Yesterday was gloomy, and cars had their headlights on at 6pm. What does your bike light setup look like? (I feel like I can’t have too many lights…)

What about those pedal powered rickshaw things?
Edit: I assume there are e-bike versions of those by now.

Ride a bike here.
More detailed?
1. Four or more wheels? Drive
2. Enclosed cabin? Drive*
3. Three wheels with two wheels in front? Drive
4. Three wheels with one wheel in front? Ride
5. Two or one wheels? RideWork down the list until you get an answer.
Yes, I am sure someone will come up with a special case like enclosed unicycles or something. I don't claim it is perfect.
* like those three wheel cars in the old British TV shows.

And our last question this week as usual: your week in a photo.
Q8. What did you see this week? It's the end of August, are your seasons changing? Reply with a photo if you'd like. Cycling related or not is fine. Tell us about it!

A #CarryShitOlympics question:
Q7. Are there any carts/trailers that are non-traditional for bikes but more common in other settings, that you've seen used for carrying long, bulky items? For example, a kayak/canoe cart: https://suspenz.com/collections/all-carts
Do these have the potential to be used for other similarly-shaped objects?

Q6. I saw this video recently, and wondered if others have used an ebike to generate electricity? Are there any easy ways to try this out?
Is this practical, or silly? Both?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGe9soy27CQ
Of course it wouldn't generate a lot of electricity, but if one were trying to exercise anyway, might as well put those watts to use!

@rasterweb asks:
Q5. Do you say "ride a bike" or "drive a bike"?
I've seen people use "drive a bike" which seems weird to me. Maybe I just think riding is mostly meant for things you are "on" where "driving" is mostly for things you are "inside of"... or riding involves balance maybe?
It's not 100% of course, but "driving my bike" just sounds weird to me.

A while back, @EndCashBail asked:
Tell us about your bike/body/helmet mounted video recording setup and workflow.
Q2. What mounts, power sources, and cameras work for you, do you record every trip on every bike, and what do you do with all the video files this creates?

Our intro:
Q1. Where are you posting from today? Did you see anything (or anyone) notably new this week?
#BikeNiteQ #BikeTooter @bikenite -
A2. I guess it really depends how cold your winters are. I don't worry about it with mine (in the UK). When in use, it'll generate enough heat that it's not a problem. When it's not in use, I don't think a neoprene cover would keep it warm for long enough to make a difference. I can't remove the main battery, but my garage doesn't get cold enough that I'm worried about it.

@genex asks:
I have presta valves on my bikes and sometimes after I inflate the tires they go a bit flat relatively quickly (a few days-ish). I suspected a leak but just pumped them up again to see what happens and often they are fine.
Q7. Is this just some quirk of the presta valves? Maybe that tiny thing you can twist down to 'lock' the valve? not sure if this is just user error or something else? It's not consistent so weird...

Question via @sam
Q6. If you have many (4+) bicycles that you normally store in a garage, what are good ways to store them in a space-efficient way? While still having usable workshop/other space in the garage?
I really want to reorganize my garage into a better workshop but we have a bunch of bicycles and I can’t figure out a good storage system.

@paul_edwin asks:
I've got two bicycles with 1X drivetrains. One of them Just Works™. The other has a habit of throwing the chain off (four times on Wednesday's commute). Always comes off on the crank side, never inboard.
Q5. Where should I start looking to prevent dropping my chain? I recently found out that the tension of the derailleur clutch can be adjusted; is that a good starting point?
Alternatively: chain guides that will mount on a T47 bottom bracket? (Frame mount not an option.)

@SRLevine asks:
Q4. Anyone ever try "split" fenders (either homemade or something like sks raceblade longs) with really tight clearance brakes? Do they work? Do you have weird water spray from the gap?
Product link for photo reference of where the "split" is: https://www.summitbicycles.com/product/sks-raceblade-long-336063-1.htm

@MartyCormack asks:
I recently had a couple pre-glued patches on inner tubes fail. Fortunately they failed in my garage, not on the road.
I've since been told by multiple people that pre-glued patches are intended as temporary "get you back home" fixes, not permanent fixes.Q3. When you get a flat, do you just replace the inner tube with a new one, or do you patch it? If you patch it, what kind of patches do you use and are they reliably permanent?

@rasterweb asks:
This will be my first year commuting to work in the winter on an ebike. I know you can get neoprene covers to wrap around the bike where the battery is, with the idea to keep it warmer for better performance.
Q2. Does anyone use those battery covers? Do they actually work?

Our intro and question from @yantor3d
Q1a. Where are you posting from today?
Portland recently held an annual Bridge Pedal, where several bridges are shut down to car traffic - including two that serve interstate highways - and let people ride their bikes on a route over them.
Q1b. Do other cities do something like this?

@esnyder asks:
I've been riding a Yuba SpicyCurry long tail e-cargo bike for about 4 years now. I love it, except for how locked down the Bosch electronic system is.
I want to be able to buy spec compliant batteries, chargers, computers, motors from different vendors that all interoperate, and I'd like to know how best to contribute to making that possible.
Q7. Are there existing organized efforts to push for open standards in ebike systems?
