If you've been paying attention to the Bel-Red buffered bike lane project, you've been noticing literally nothing happening even through the project page still says construction started months ago and will be finished by summer.

It still says that today, but if you go to the _City of Redmond Traffic Cameras_ page, you can zoom in on the area and 1) FINALLY see some work being done and 2) find if you hover over the right things that it's only actually been going a few weeks (out of camera range) and won't be finished 'til September.

So if you've been thinking these'll be infrastructure you can use this summer, you can forget about that.

There'll be a new maps drop tomorrow - Newcastle and Seattle both have new bike lanes open, and there's a small missing bit on Seattle's map that I've added in on Broad street. Normally it's small enough I might hold onto it 'til Kenmore finishes its new bike lanes on 61st since that's as soon as next week, but _any_ addition in Newcastle is a big deal for people down there, and this one's an important add - NE May Creek Park no longer has a complete gap east of the roundabout.

(It's only a full bike lane in the uphill direction - downhill is sharerow but _officially_ sharrow now. And every bit of actual lane helps.)

So I'm gonna add it but I'm gonna add it as half regular bike lane and half sharrow and hopefully people will figure it out. Or at least be alerted that there's weird shit there.

well I figured out why Roxbury gets used west of 16th

it's because it's the ONLY east-west that doesn't get a 4-8% slope marker

also it has de facto bike lanes - it got narrowed there a while ago to three lanes, two traffic and a turn - but the pavement isn't up to grade for Seattle (which does apparently own that street in its entirety) won't certify them

Should I add the "commonly used" to reflect that reality? but only to 18th at very most.

eta: WAIT NO IT'S JUST FURTHER WEST

and still less steep but still over 4%

So I guess will NOT be adding that until and unless the bike lanes become official
