I haven't ridden with a #bikecomputer in years – my last one failed, didn't feel like shelling out hundreds for the feature-laden modern ones. But I finally gave in this week and got a relatively inexpensive Bryton 650 (no subscription, OpenStreeMaps, works with the Bryton tail light radar I got last year), and I have to say: knowing your speed is good, and it does not suck to have a map handy sometimes. This will push me this year. #cycling #roadcycling #roadbike

Also es ist amtlich: Mein #Wahoo elemnt roam V2 ist tot ⚰️!

Ich möchte darauf hinweisen, dass ich nicht die einzige bin, der das so geht. Wahoo scheint in Folge von Softwareupdates Batterie Probleme zu haben. Eine Reparatur ist von Seiten Wahoo nicht vorgesehen. Die Firma repariert scheinbar auch neuere Geräte nicht, obwohl sie es laut #EU #Gesetz müsste.

Ich war immer sehr zufrieden mit Wahoo, kaufe mir jetzt aber einen #Garmin #BikeComputer

What a disappointment: the new Wahoo Elemnt ACE bike computer. Halfbaked and overpriced brick. Is that all that Wahoo could muster after all this time? Doesn't bode well for them and healthy competition in the bike computer market:

Making the new companion app, which has been announced for years, only available for the latest model of bike computer, even though the "old" ones already had WiFi and Bluetooth, is a cheeky move. There is no technical justification for this, only a commercial one. But that's exactly what will stop me from ever buying such a device again. Sorry, SRAM - really bad style.

After a hiatus of over two weeks, I have a new #bike. When I took the last one in for a service, the replacement of worn out components would have been nearly as high as the cost of a new one. So I decided to retire it and to get a new one. Instead of #black, this time I’ve gone for #red which and this one has #disc, rather than #rim #brakes. I spent this morning transferring a few things over like the #BikeComputer.
