We are hosting a vigil and bike jam for Riley O’Neil - an CDOT Complete Streets team member killed by two motorists on Halsted St in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago riding his bike in a unprotected bike lane.
It will be on Monday, 6/8 at 7pm. Palmissano Park (Fitness Course; across from McGuane Park's playground)

After some backlash, the plan for the Wellington Greenway has been modified in a way that will increase the danger for west-bound cyclists. Oakdale & Halsted is an unsignaled intersection with an awkward geometry. I can guarantee that drivers on Halsted will not stop for you. #bikechi 🧵

I've plotted my top recommended bike routes starting at the south end of the Lakefront Trail in Chicago to make it easier to share some of my favorite routes! They all basically work in reverse, but I've also tried to include train connections at the ends. All have detailed notes. #bikechi
