We have greatly enjoyed organising ReproducibiliTea in the HumaniTeas but, after five semesters, we have decided it's time we took a (tea) break. This means that TODAY's session will be the last we brew (at least for a while).

Don't miss out on what promises to be a tea-riffic session with Onur Özsoy. Onur will tell us all about "How to do research with 100+ colleagues" and share his experiences of being involved in the ManyLanguages project.

For this goodbye-session TODAY Thursday 16 July 16-17:30 CEST in the Medienbibliothek of the Sprachlabor (room -1.208 in the Gartengeschoss of SSC building) to share some iced tea and cookies or online via Zoom.

Research collaborations often start out vague, and participants may have different expectations about issues like workload, authorship, publication form, and open science. We are developing a toolkit where project initiators can state how they foresee the collaboration, and potential collaborators can evaluate if the project is right for them.

💕 I love that #BigTeamScience might be a tool that we can use to combat biases in academia!

Liu and colleagues will find out whether
1) big team science samples are more diverse and more representative of the global population in terms of sex, age, education, and country distribution
2) authors of big team science articles are more socioeconomically diverse than those of the traditional articles, and whether the socioeconomic diversity of the authors of the big team science articles is more representative of the global population

It's exciting to see my innovation of programmatic registered reports (1 Stage 1 can result in 2+ Stage 2s) take flight and be adapted by others! 🎉 Savage and colleagues push it to the max - there will be 27 Stages 2s from this one Stage 1 🤩

👏 I love how they took my innovation and innovated it even more by using it to make #BigTeamScience more #equitable. All co-authors are on the Stage 1, whereas each site will produce its own Stage 2, thus allowing many authors to move into the first and last author positions and receive the deserved credit for their contributions

I was recruited to join my first #BigTeamScience project after stumbling into a hackathon at the @improvingpsych #SIPS2019 in Rotterdam. Almost 5 years later the article is published in AMPPS: https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/25152459231213375

We designed a constructive replication of a classical #CognitiveDissonance experimental task, using a induced-compliance task paradigm with added controls. We collected in-person data from almost 5.000 participants across 39 labs (19 countries).

A new study offers a blueprint for successful collaboration in big team science. The study analyzes the factors influencing the performance and satisfaction of researchers working in large interdisciplinary teams. The study suggests that big team science requires careful planning, clear communication, and strong leadership.
