In our 4th year of posting about #BigStuffInSmallTowns, it's time to revisit one of our earliest attractions. The world's biggest Beaver will be 22 years old this July and obviously is Canada's top destination for a #RoadTrip. Beaverlodge Alberta will celebrate 97 years of history this summer and I can only imagine the hijinks that will happen during their Centennial. Plan ahead.

May 1st is the official start of the #RoadTrip season. I read that on the internet so it must be true.
We're revisiting a past #BigStuffInSmallTowns post to highlight that a treasured Canadian monument had some work done. Mac the Moose got a new rack. The Mayor of Moose Jaw also has some controversial comments on our beloved #Beaver.

In 2022, this town was voted by CBC readers and viewers as the "Best Small Town in B.C.". Sure, it's got skiing, golf, scenery, and friendly people but it's also a destination for your next #BigStuffInSmallTowns road trip. Kimberley's downtown was designed to resemble a Bavarian tourist village, so it features an almost 7 metre tall cuckoo clock where Happy Hans, a Bavarian-style mountaineer, announces the time.

Some mornings, I wake up and struggle to find material for this daily post. I'm sure something or somebody was or is interesting, but maybe the subject doesn't speak to me like beaver stories or #BigStuffInSmallTowns. But then you remember that approx 13,820 days ago, the Montreal band The Box released Closer Together, and it could be our rallying cry in these turbulent times. Or it's just 80s cool.

It's Friday before a long weekend so we're due for more #BigStuffInSmallTowns. Today's subject deserves the spotlight as it defeated other oversized attractions to win a coveted provincial championship. Chesley’s Big Bruce has outperformed a mammoth cheese, enormous golf bag, giant thimble and even Sudbury’s famous big nickel to be crowned the winner of TVO’s Great Ontario Roadside Attraction Showdown.
