Buddy Guy. Big Mama Thornton. It really doesn’t get more iconically blues than this (https://youtu.be/knmvGJn0ZPk?si=Dfz823KoBvX4O6VI)

Forty years ago today the musical world lost one of the most influential female vocalists ever.
“My singing comes from my experience… My own experience. I never had no one teach me nothin’. I never went to school for music or nothin’. I taught myself to sing... by watchin’ other people! I can’t read music, but I know what I’m singing! I don’t sing like nobody but myself.”

CW: Dashcam footage of a cat narrowly avoids getting hit while I'm driving.
[SOUND WARNING: Music and chaos as everything in the back of my car now lives in the front of my car. No yelling, just a massive sigh.]
Always make sure to stay alert and properly maintain your brakes, y'all. So glad Kitty was okay. 😭
