Played a half game of 40K. Technically we were up on points, but I felt like we were behind in positioning. But it was fun.

I foolishly charged the wraith knight and only did five wounds. But I tied him up for two rounds.

Most annoying is that the viper special distracts any unit hit, even a super heavy baneblade.

It was fun, good to play again.

I get to play today! Testing a doubles list with my ad mech friend.

We’ll see how well my compact 1k guard list does.

Of course it’s only 15 models, so it may be a terrible idea.

So a lot of strategems or army rules don’t apply.

I’m almost certainly spending 1CP a turn to pop smoke on the baneblade.

Legion Imperialis

I bought two boxes of Basilisks/Medusas, thinking I’d make 8 of each. But looking at the rules I’m not sure what role the Medusa plays with a 12” gun.

Especially since the artillery formation requires three squadrons of 4, it seems like I should make 12 basilisks, if not all 16.

Anyone able to sell me on Medusa?

Got my 1k Imperial Guard army ready for the team tournament and took it for a spin.

We got crushed, losing first turn didn’t help.

Angron rolled into the left flank, but he didn’t start blowing up basilisks until turn 2.

Magnus took two turns to wipe my command squad.

I tried a desperate gamble to dislodge some thousand sons from an objective and they stubbornly held on.

Had fun.

Didn’t win anything except a pot of paint at the 40K tournament.

But I did meet up with a guy from the discord to trade my unbuilt Baneblade kit for his assembled and primed Stormhammer. It’s a Forgeworld variant that is now legendary, but my guard are mostly for fun matches anyway. So I couldn’t say no to 8 lascannons and even bigger guns.

I think I got a good deal.
