  2. James Alexander Thom - Tecumseh

  3. US Book Show Highlights Big Books, AI, and the Value of Direct Sales: Self-Publishing News with Dan Holloway

Last week saw the US Book Show, a single-day but large event that comes far enough after other major gatherings—like the London Book Fair—to feel as though a world of water has passed under the bridge since then.

  4. @bookstodon Often, lonnnnnnggg books get overlooked. (I am guilty of this myself.) So, Bibliophiles, tell us which HUGE tomes are worth the hefty page count.

    A few of my rec's:

    11/22/63, Stephen King
    1Q84, Haruki Murakami
    2666, Roberto Balaňo
    Gnomon, Nick Harkaway
    The Third Person, Emma Grove
    Wayward, Chuck Wendig

  5. Spending the morning with The Essential Plato. I am currently on Protagoras.

I started reading this in May of last year and have been slowly making my way through. I haven't picked it up in a while though.

  6. Are there any books you are intimidated by? There are several that come to mind.
    1. Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace
    2. The Books of Jacob by Olga Tozarczuk
    3. ...And Ladies of the Club by Helen Hooven Santmeyer
    4. The Executioner's Song by Norman Mailer

These 4 are all books I own physical copies of & that I think I want to read. But, gosh.

    They are big.

    Like literal door stops, especially 1, 3, & 4.
