Now I Have to Go
There is going to be a ton of back story to this one. You’ve been warned.
My maternal grandmother’s maiden name was Bridget Murphy. Her friends called her Bride, or Bridie. She had a bunch of kids (five, but one passed as an infant) and those kids all had kids of their own and two of those kids had a lot of kids of their own. That means I have roughly 25,000 first cousins (I exaggerate of course, but only a little). Many of us are on a Facebook Messenger chat thread together.
One of my zillion first cousins’ daughter got married this weekend. It was a destination wedding. The destination was in Ireland. Glorious! Some of my cousins have been sending photos from the trip to the Messenger thread. One of them just sent something that changed my personal mindset about visiting Ireland. How so?
I have always wanted to visit Ireland but now… now I HAVE TO VISIT IRELAND!
The photo was of a store front. The name of the store:
Bridie Murphy’s Home Bakery.
Yes, I now have to go to Ireland. I have to go to the land where Bridie Murphy’s Home Bakery exists. It is a must. It is a moral imperative. It has to happen.

We’re growing our already #BigFamily - our 5th child is due end of January. This also means we have to finally throw in the towel and get a bigger vehicle, that will fit all 7 of us. We’re picking up our new (to us) vehicle end of the week. The bonus is that I’ll get to do another mobile #HamRadio install😀

-2- Please #CamelCase hashtags even if your server does not have that automated. You might be able to volunteer #moderation energy or pay to hire someone to convert them

Every few weeks I find myself looking at used RVs on Facebook Marketplace.
And then I imagine my wife, my 6 kids, and me all sleeping in a 200 sq foot space. Once I can fully picture that hellscape I tear myself away from my scrolling.
And then 3 weeks later I am back at it. I'm pretty sure that RVs are not meant for a #bigfamily, or at least not OUR big family. -

Vance, N3VEM here. Into #HamRadio, #ModelRocketry, #electronics, and all things #maker and #DIY. I have a #BigFamily which takes most of my personal time, but I dabble around with my hobbies several nights a week, after the kids are in bed.
I'm also a #UnitarianUniversalist and believe strongly that justice is for everyone and love is love, full stop.
