  1. Ketone bodies from the ketogenic diet suppress bifidobacteria and Th17 cells.
    a-hydroxybutyrate reducing Bifidobacterium
📉 KD indirectly reduced intestinal Th17 cells through changes in gut microbiota

  2. Effects of Undaria pinnatifida (wakame) on the human intestinal environment
    doi.org/10.31989/ffhd.v8i10.54

"... the fraction of bifidobacteria as a percentage of all fecal bacteria increased significantly during the wakame intake period. "

I should go back to eating wakame. Not really my favorite, but probably takes about the same amount of time to prepare as the slippery elm tea.

  6. Frustrating day looking for a xylooligosaccharide supplement that is not derived from corn. XOS support the growth of Bifidobacteria.

There don't seem to by any made from other sources, even though it would seem wood could be a potentially cheap source.

I'm drinking slippery elm tea (Ulmus rubra), which has a long history of use in traditional medicine. Unfortunately, there hasn't been much research on it (which is weird & also frustrating). Herbals say it's active constituent is 'mucilage'. Would it act as a prebiotic for Bifidobacteria?
