I have a soft spot for Albert Bierstadt's paintings that depict California's wilderness as he found it in the 19th century. The composition is romanticized but overall the elements of this painting - including the size of the trees - are realistic.

Fun Fact: Aptos hieß bisher #Bierstadt, benannt nach dem Mount Bierstadt in den Rocky Mountains, der wiederum nach dem deutschstämmigen Landschaftsmaler Albert Bierstadt benannt wurde. Bierstadt ist auch der Name eines Stadtteils von Wiesbaden.

When Albert Bierstadt painted Rocky Mountain Landscape in 1870, he had not seen the Rockies for seven years. He worked from studies made in 1863, during his second trip to the West. In Rocky Mountain Landscape the shopworn adjectives "spellbinding" and "breathtaking" regain their identity, conveying the awestruck wonder the artist induces in the viewer.

#Microsoft has recently disclosed the default typeface for Office in their Microsoft 365 #Copilot demonstration video, albeit in a subdued manner. This new typeface is named #Aptos, after a Californian town.
Notably, Aptos was not included in the initial list of five fonts for public voting; however, its design closely resembles that of #Bierstadt.
