I think it says a lot about folks lack of awareness and discomfort about queer identity and #BiErasure that there's been lots of discourse around a group of evangelicals online thinking they get to go to heaven early, rather than choosing to find out and boost information about queer identities. Or like acknowledge the validity of #BiSexuality.
Fortunately we can validate ourselves.

C'est pas assez radical pour vous d'être bi/pan quand tous genres et orientations sexuelles confondues, les femmes bies subissent le plus de violences conjugales ? Il est où votre matérialisme subitement ?

J'en ai marre de la suspicion permanente d'hétérosexualité que les bi/pan subissent. Comme si le fait de pouvoir être attiræs par les hommes cis nous rendaient moins queer. Comme si on était en fait des hétéros infiltræs et pas des membres de la communauté à part entière. Il n'y a qu'à voir l'utilisation excessive de termes comme "bicurieux/hétérocurieux" alors que ce sont juste des gens qui se questionnent sur leur sexualité et c'est NORMAL. Arrêtez de vous sentir prédatæs par les bi/pan. C'est biphobe et c'est excluant.

A long time ago, I told a lesbian friend that I was bi. Probably the first person I ever told. She asked me why I thought that, and I gave her my reasons. They apparently weren't good enough for her, and she scoffed and said I was straight.
I figured she must know better than I did, what with her being much more experienced than I was and all. So when two friends of mine (on separate occasions) came out to me as bi, I scoffed and told them they were gay.
Because I was laughed at for coming out, it left me thinking I couldn't trust my own judgment about myself. And then I went and passed that curse onto others. I hope it stopped with them. I hope they were able to ignore my useless opinion. If I was still in contact with them, I'd apologize.

An sich interessiert mich #RalfSchumacher nicht viel. Im Rahmen seines #ComingOuts lese ich jetzt aber, dass sich Menschen darüber aufregen, dass er als "Schwuler" zuvor "unter falschen Voraussetzungen" mit einer Frau verheiratet gewesen sei. Sorry: So lange wir nur wissen, dass er vorher mit einer Frau liiert war und jetzt mit einem Mann, ist so ein Take nichts anderes als #BiErasure. Kommt mal runter!

#biErasure in deutschen Soaps ist schockierend: Wenn eine Soap einen schwulen Charakter bekommt ("muss man ja heutzutage ab und an mal"), "wird" ein bis da als hetero charakterisierter Charakter für diesen Charakter schwul. So weit so gut, kann ja auch IRL passieren. Krass ist halt nur, dass, wenn der schwule Charakter dann zuerst aussteigt, dann "wird" der ehemals heterosexuelle Charakter wieder heterosexuell und das Thema wird quasi ausgespart – dass er bi sein könnte, kommt keinem in den Sinn

I'm not a fan of the name - partly because some people with actual phobias have advocated not using "-phobia" as a shorthand for prejudice, partly just because I think it's clunky :-)

And I think it's sad that growing up, the only example I had of someone #questioning whether they were #queer was #Seinfeld, a show that, while I'm defending it with some #UnpopularOpinions is still deeply problematic. It's a show that, like every other show of that era, was #biphobic and participated in #BiErasure. And yet, I'm also weirdly grateful to it, because at least it was something when I had nothing, and now I can look back on that era of my life and rewatch it and realize how far I've come in my own journey.
And I also think it's sad that there really isn't more representation of characters questioning their sexual orientation, even today. I think today questioning is assumed to be something people don't do because we're all supposedly so accepting of the #LGBTQ community now, but for pretty much all of my life, I could have used some questioning representation.

Part of #biErasure is having only one category to be shoved into for everything from "95% attracted to women but married a cis man" like me to "have exclusively dated and slept with men one's entire life, but likes to spank it to naked pictures of women sometimes." If you call yourself a lesbian, that's "harmful to real lesbians who have NEVER been with a man." but certainly, calling oneself straight wouldn't be accurate either. There's also a bizarre level of gatekeeping... How "gay" do you have to be to "qualify" as bisexual, or are you from the camp that thinks bi is a "cop out" and you're either 100% gay or 100% straight? Isn't the whole thing about lgbtquia+++ (or, according to this link, "LGBTQQIP2SA" https://www.loyola.edu/department/lgbtq-services/resources/lgbtq-terms-definitions ) supposed to be NOT locking people into rigid labels??
Unless I'm specifically trying to make a post found by lgbtq+++ people, I just say #queer. Not straight, cis, and monogamous? Great! You're queer. Seems easy enough...? And if you want to search within subcultures of queerness, then you look for that label specifically (bisexual, pansexual, lesbian, nonbinary, polyamorous, etc). But requiring a letter for every variety of queerness to be added to the label invariably leaves other groups out, not to mention makes it inaccessible from a SEO web search perspective (why put up a video essay about growing up queer in a country that still has a death penalty for gay sexual activity if no one can find it?).
Anyway, please don't hate me, I'm actively trying NOT to exclude anyone, that's why I'm in favor of one catch-all word that doesn't have to be infinitely expanded as new "categories" of queerness are "qualified" as "valid" enough to be included...

* Bisexuals don't have to be "50-50". (Imagine a guy who's 80-20. Sure, 4 out of 5 people he likes are femme, but 1 in 5 is masc! You wouldn't call that "straight", would you?)
