  1. “Boosting #RenewableEnergy integration: #BidirectionalCharging could enable an additional 430 GW of #solar PV capacity by 2040, nearly doubling the current EU capacity.

Reduced storage needs: the need for stationary #battery storage could be cut by up 92% in 2040, while backup power plant capacity could be reduced by 126 GW.”

  2. Batteries on wheels: the untapped potential… | Transport & Environment transportenvironment.org/artic “By 2040, widespread adoption of #BidirectionalCharging could reduce annual energy system costs across the EU, by 8.6%, amounting to €22.2 billion in savings per year. Even by 2030, savings of 5.5% or €9.7 billion annually are projected…

#EVs as a major power resource by 2040: EVs could contribute up to 9% of Europe's annual power supply, becoming the 4th largest power supplier.”

  3. Bidirectional charging may be required on #EVs soon due to new CA law

"Widespread use of #BidirectionalCharging could lead to huge benefits for efficiency, grid resiliency, and enable much greater penetration of renewable electricity generation."

  5. #EV #BiDirectionalCharging

I was interested in getting a F150 Lightning because of its bidirectional charging capabilities but the cost of the truck and the cost of the Ford's Charging Station (already included if you get the extended range Lightning) and Ford's Home Integration system plus the cost of upgrading your electrical panel (if necessary) to 100 amps could cost $10-15k on top of the typical $80-100k asking price for the truck. So, I decided to pass on that idea. LOL! 😉

  6. Electric cars can power homes with bi-directional charging, a technology that allows energy to flow both ways between the car and the grid. This can reduce the reliance on fossil fuels and save money on electricity bills, especially when using renewable sources. Electric cars can also act as backup generators in case of power outages, providing security and comfort. #BiDirectionalCharging #ElectricCars #PowerHomes wealthofgeeks.com/electr-car-p

  7. Now I'm fantasizing about #BidirectionalCharging being required on all EVs and we have a #SmartGrid, and whenever they're connected to a charger when the sun isn't providing excess solar, their batteries are being used to power everyone else and drawn down to 100 miles of range instead of being charged.

  8. The Tesla Cybertruck is rumored to feature bi-directional charging. With speculation of vehicle-to-vehicle charging and its battery capacity, we delve into what's known so far.
