Participated in last weekend's #BRM600 #brevet organized by #Audax #Randonneurs #Allemagne (ARA), Schleswig-Holstein. Weather was OK, and we rode northwards from #Kiel via #Eckernförde and #Flensburg, before entering #Denmark 🇩🇰. We finally reached #Legoland at #Billund from where we started our journey back via #Ølgod, #Esbjerg, #Husum ... eventually back to Kiel. Despite some technical issues I enjoyed the ride and the camaraderie with fellow #bicyclists. Thanks everybody 🙏.

We were personally especially sorry to read about #Illinois #Route66 withdrawal, in general vicinity of our birthplace, and where we have many relatives and friends. "McLean County in central Illinois got a similar letter recalling federal funding awarded last year to help design a final 9-mile segment of a #bike and #pedestrian trail along Route 66. County engineer Jerry Stokes said the project wouldn’t affect #MotorVehicle travel but would promote safety by getting #bicyclists and #pedestrians off the road.”

Have any #Massachusetts #bicyclists figured out how to file for commuter benefits on their MA tax return?
Does it just go in with EZPass and Tolls? The official tax-filing software for the Commonwealth doesn't seem to have a space for it.

There are vehicles, with no #DEQ inspection, yet they abuse those condemned to use public roads with egregious, otherwise illegal in a *workplace*, noise levels.

I took the long road home from Yr Wyddfa. It was a sort of 'Amalfi coast of Wales': sweeping bendy roads along the coast. No pictures.
Made my own dinner and the dogs kept close guard nothing unforseen should befall my dinner.
Anyway, https://www.motocampwales.co.uk/ is the absolute coolest and chillest place to stay in mid-Wales. Not just for #motorcycle riders, but #hikers and #bicyclists too.

A #legal question for those in the know...
While riding your #bicycle in #MA , if a driver breaking the law puts your life in danger, such as failing to yield to you while you're riding through an intersection or a traffic circle with right of way, are you legally allowed to utilize deadly force to save yourself from harm or death?
Given it appears to be open season on #bicyclists by drivers in the #Boston area, rather than just accepting the maiming and deaths, can we start fighting back against those who are seemingly trying to kill us? -

One final thought (well, maybe 2), but does anyone ever notices that the word “crash” is almost never in the reporting, and 2) when these things are reported, they never mention that there are #DRIVERS in the #car; but sure, #bicyclists are keeling over dead.

So far, it seems to me the number of Canadians, Ph.D.s, and people who bicycle (plus ham radio folks) is of MUCH higher density out here on the Fediverse than other social platforms I've ever been on. Maybe just the initial networks I have plugged into, given how discovery works here (though, I'm all for it...).
